Title: I never would have believed it...
Post by: Bonk on May 29, 2006, 06:48:47 pm
... if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, but KD (Kraft Dinner) can go bad!!! I am amazed. Last week, I got a box of KD from the village store, which has a lot of "vintage" merchandise... Today, I put it on to boil and when I returned about 8 minutes later it had completely disintegrated!  :o Instead of a tasty pot of pasta I had an almost perfectly homogenous starch solution. Strangest thing.

Well now, I just took another look at the box and noticed it has a best before date (never had occasion to look before) and it expires Dec 20, 2006. (7 months from now) So it's not the store's fault. I suspect that Kraft has made changes to the pasta used to allow for microwave cooking (absurd idea). Or perhaps I just got a bad batch... I'm tempted to call the 1-800 number to complain. I am absolutely dumbfounded by this...

Bonk, why not call the 800 number? I'd be curious to see what they do, if anything.

Strange things happen to food One time I put a slice of bacon in the microwave for 20 seconds and when it was done then the entire sice of bacond was nothing but burnt dust stuck on the paper towel. You probably should call the 800 number about it though. Seems strange it would cook that way...

When I was a youngster, I put an egg in the microwave to "hardboil" it in the shell, but it exploded! The eggs did not have a 1-800 number though.  >:(

That's how you end up on the governments list...by calling the 1-800 number to complain.
