To those to hate this ship, who oppose it, who think of it as disgraceful and disrespectful, keep this in mind: No one's forcing you to like it, and no one's forcing you to download it and use it. Just with every other ship that has ever come our way, each one of us can use it, or not.
The blatant disrespect toward a modeler ought to carry with it the penalty of being banned. If you dont like what the modeler is doing, dont D/L the model. Make one yourself or STFU. Pretty simple, really.
Modelers need to be encouraged to stay and keep making models. Duh! Every word typed in response to their work should be weighed accordingly.
Disrespecting a modeler in any way is very bad form. Be ashamed. Very ashamed. Some of you are lucky I'm not an forum ninja. I'd slice your hands off so you'd be typing you insults with your nose. Let me say it again for those that can't hear well.

If you dont have something good to say, keep it to yourself, otherwise this wonderful community may die out... :(
Constructive criticism can be a great thing, criticism in general, is a completely different story. keep it useful or keep it private IMO :)

I agree completly, a star trek fansite is no place to bully people, flame people, or attack people. You never know who you may be attacking or flaming. My 11 year old son just recently got a mouth full of vulgarity for 3 days from a guy on stgu before anything was done about it. If you dont have something good to say, then dont say it.

first let me say that vile and insulting language directed to a child as in the case of an 11 yr old boy is totally unacceptable.
had this been my child, the perptrator would have been found. i'll leave the rest to your imaginations.
family is off limits folks. especially children.
but for the adults modellers...will shatner said it best. YOU PEOPLE NEED TO GET A LIFE!!!!
the same rule of not downloading a model you think is garbage should apply if someone criticizes you or the model don't read it or just ignore it. it's not like that person is going to show up at your house and confiscate your computer.
and i've been in this forum since the Taldren days some of the models i've seen are a waste of hard drive but what really gets me is the fawning of members over something and someone that just doesn't deserve the credit.
and even established model makers shouldn't be exempt from the "lash" of critism. for example WickedZombie, I, Mudd and Atra.
WZ for instances hates the design of the yamato fbb. i like it. he thinks his w'ked kff is great. i don't. his blodthirsty wolves would make great throw rugs in my apartment.
I, Mudd did great on the class j freighter but his phase 2 enterprise, to me now, looks like crap.
Atra, st. peter's ghost Atra. his stuff over all is very good and i've even seen some people copy the textures and claim them as their own but his "bushsucks" and "Kerry2004" along with his "stopsealclubbing" passwords make me want to burn ottawa to ground.
maybe when i post some of my work i'll have passwords like "dead canadians", "neil young must die" or "dolphin, the other other other whitemeat".
for pete's sake people we're for the most parts grown-ass men and women. we all need to start acting like it.

Sadly this is nothing more than another political statement as much as anything.
Dizzy ... you Centurus and others are the ones that should be ashamed.
I notice that the disrespect that was shown to the origin of all this was totally ignored ... but rather the only ones who were applauded were people who had nothing to do with the original development of the project in the first place.
It seems as always here in SFC forums it is more important to be on the "right side" (politically speaking) .. rather than on the side of "right".
BTW... you dont have to worry about banning me. I have left a long time ago. I only show up to communicate with one ... perhaps two via PM's. I still help them ... and them alone.
This attitude here is the main reason for that decision.
(But who cares ... right ! after all I'm always wrong ... )

oh dizzy. how's that Fed DN coming along??? i've viewed the rework photos and even though the missile bays show attention to detail
i think individual enclosed directional silos would be more apt to found on a DN. something about the weapon being exposed to incoming fire just doesn't make me sleep well.

I believe if you can say a models rocks you ought to be able to say one sucks too. Note, not "you suck" but "it sucks". The first is a personal attack and there's enough of that crap being posted, I try not to add to it. But this is a modding community, not a "a** kissing" community. If you want your *** kissed every time ya post a ship go somewhere else. Every artist in the worl, regardless of the type of art they make, or if they do it for free or millions, puts up with the same stuff as those who make startrek models for games ect. Art is art. That's life. If yea can't deal with it, you can ake a page from your own book, as nobody is forcing you to make it, nor are they forcing you to post a discussion on it, or read any of the responses. If you want to share it then share it and quit whinning. The fans aren't the only people who need to grow up, it's the modelers too.

I find so much of the contempt for others, lack of respect and other BASIC fundamentals of life missing here to the point it is nauseating.
So much here is often twisted, ignored, railed upon, and some times individuals gang banged ....
oh well ... Frankly there is not much need for me to continue. I fear this will only fall upon deaf ears.
Just for the record ... this is not a whine. This is a statement if fact.
Do I expect everyone to believe it? Frankly : NO !
I promissed my self that I wouldn't get into this any more ! *** sigh ***. Oh well !

I think that criticism of a model should be allowed.
Not just an "It sucks" but an "It sucks because..."
Now, an outright attack on a moddler (or anyone on these forums) should be thrown with the ban stick.

The quote, OB, was cut and pasted to serve a point, and a generic one at that. The words were universal to my point and where they came from is irrelevant and meaningless. I think I'll leave it right there.
As far as manners and the topic of this thread and where it's heading, here is a redirect: I believe we all know the difference between the blatant and willful disrespct of a modeler and criticising (passing artistic judgement) upon models. If you dont know the difference, your mom did a piss poor job with you.

you know, someone whos been around as long as you, would typically be expected to not be so... childish?
all the negative karma in the world couldnt equalize the crap you put centurus through for a bloody collectoin of polygons... yea i know its history, yes i care, no i dont think its a crime to rework something in someones honor... if i did, i wouldnt be a modeler, working on ships designed for gene rodenberry's vision would i? because in your world, that would be disrespectful, meaning you, yes YOU, would be disrespecitng someones memory... so get off your high horse, and realize that no one is perfect...
