How do you guys keep the warp nacels from looking "painted on?"

Could you post an example of one that looks painted on and one that does not look painted on please? I think I know what you mean, but I think I can better answer you question if I am sure.

You know, after looking at it, it doesn't look any different than any of the other stock textures... I think I was seeing weird last night. :P
