Why's that? I find it kind of interesting.  It also seems to be doing the franchise favors by stirring interest.

It'll be nice to see it on any channel if I happen to browse around TV in boredom and I don't have my Trek Seasons 1-3 DVD Boxes nearby me.

if you mean the original serie, it does play at tv, the sci-fi channel paly it with the rest of startrek and sg-1 and other sci-fi and none sci-fi series.
