It's the same old firewall problem.
I'm running XP with Windows firewall (firewall on or off makes no difference). Verizon DSL with a westell versalink modem. port fowarding set to 2300-2400, 47624 TCP. Directory serve updated and patched to 2552. The only clue I have is from Gamespy. I get a message saying that I have two IP addresses when tryinto set up a game on ther server. anyone got any new ideas?

Disable the firewall from Services. Shutting it off does not do the same thing.
OP will not work with one.

If you have a router you need to configure it properly. Big job there. But OP is an old game and will NOT play with firewalls. Sorry.
Nice to see ya again pendragon. ;) WB. The Forge is the current server. 2 more are in the works. See the sticky at the top.

Thanks Dizzy.
762_XC What do you mean by turning it off through services?
When I had dial up I had no problems even with ZoneLab firewall on.

I'm assuming you're running XP.
Go to Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Services
Scroll down until you see the "Windows Firewall" service (it might say "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing")
Right click on it and click Properties
In the General tab, where it says Startup Type, select "Disabled"
Then right below that click "Stop"
Click "OK"
If you don't do this, it will restart every time you reboot.
Trust me, all firewalls need to be OFF when playing. It might look like it works some of the time, but it will cause major connection issues on Dynaverse if you have a FW running.

Disabling the firewall didn't work, but thanks 762_xc.
How ever I read though my modem manul for the umteenth time and noticed something called single static IP. Enabling this set the modem to a single IP and I was able to connect to the server. Now all I need are the forge downloads.
Thanks for trying to help. Seeya out there.
