Title: Sripting question for EEK/ED
Post by: FPF-DieHard on September 08, 2006, 12:17:00 pm
Can fighter/PF behavior at all be affected by ANYTHING in a missions script.

Is there ANY was to get a fighter on "Attack" to target the ship you select only?  I don't think this is possible but figure it is worth asking.

You know even if they can, t00ls fighters will just get killed by something before they shoot and
then he'll be bitching about that...

For fighters and PFs that are specifically script-generated (i.e. as seperate ships, rather than launched from another ship) we can do pretty much anything with them that we can with a regular ship, though I seem to recall some issues with the fighters (murky memories there).

I'm not aware of much that we can do with units that have been launched from another ship though, except in terms of controlling the mother ship's target/status.

Ships originating from the shiplist.txt file and created as individual ships access the tShipInfo class, so they have all the full features availalble.

Fighters are always giving me fits whether they are part of a mother ship or created individually.

Methods for accessing fighters and shuttles from a ship were never implemented, unfortunately.
