Title: Strike carrier
Post by: Rod ONeal on November 10, 2006, 07:53:52 pm
I wanted to make a TOS Connie. So, I decided to make a CVS. At least it hasn't  been done as much as the standard Constitution. The only other finished one that I know of is Desty Nova's. This is a bit higher poly than his.

Great work there Rod Nice to see you using earlier warp engines on the ship gives the ship an earlier feel.

Lots of great comments, guys! Thanks. I was a bit concerned about doing "yet another Connie". I really got bit by the bug to make one though and this design hasn't been done to death. (Neither has a TMP version :HINT: :HINT:)
If you are more of a purist, and don't like the registries lit, you can blackout the floodlights on the lightmaps. They aren't on the colormaps.
The engines are a bit of a conglomeration. I really like the phase2 engines, other than the plain bussards. So, I gave them the regular transparent bussards. Since it's a game model I also lit the nacelles. Again, not correct from a purist's perspective. Making her the "Nimitz" (The 1st one converted/built), I figure that these are changes that could've occurred during the CVS refit from an older design.

Yes it has ;)

Really? Have a link, please? I've been wanting one. The only one that I've seen is a TMP version of the Coronado, but that's not the same thing.

Thanks, Don. How the hell did I miss this. It's even done by my favorite modeler. Getting old, I guess. :D
