I screwed up windows on my desktop syst. Now I can install my 300gig HDD and will have more room. YAAAAAAYYYY!!!!! ;D

I'm curious, what steps do you take before re-installing?

I'm looking at a reinstall myself since my desktop has gotten inexplicably slow, will no longer complete MS Updates, and generally needs a good nuking.

And yet I positively fear doing so because I can't remember my user name/passwords to just about every site I visit, haven't kept current with some software or even know where I got some of it from.

Have you made sure your computer isnt infested with any Spyware, Ad-aware, and Virus's first?
If you have, and you want to keep the sites ability to remember you, then you'll need to back up your cookies before you do a reformat and then a reinstall.

I back up everything that is important, then reinstall. (A+ certification here talking) ;D

I have noticed when I play online my syst has gotten slower. Pings are high etc.
