Title: New Lizard in charge
Post by: GDA-S'Cipio on January 06, 2007, 07:30:40 pm
I took Dr. Nyet for a routine appointment yesterday, and while listening to the baby's heartbeat it suddenly dropped dramatically for a few seconds.  The doctors decided they wanted to go ahead and get the baby out, so we went straight to the hospital for induced labor two and a half weeks early.

Two hours later, we had a new baby named Kaitlyn!  (Fortunately, it's a girl who looks like her mom.  Whew!)

Being premature, she's awfully tiny.  She was six pounds 1 ounce at birth, and within hours was down to 5 punds 12 ounces.  But she's very healthy and perfectly willing to tell you so.  The umbilical cord was wrapped twice around one leg, and the doctors say that is likely what was causing her distress.

I'm home walking the dog for a few minutes, and then will head back to the hospital for the night again.  We finally get to bring her home tomorrow.

The rest of the galaxy had best watch out.  There's a new Gorn in town!

Now ya got fun...!  ;D
Big Congrats, sir, to you and your lady.  ;D
Glad everything worked out for the best!
Expect your free time to go into the negative... :P
Now, wait about 14-16 years and see if you're still glad she looks like her mom!    :help:

Congrats... you won't get another goodnight sleep for a long time. Have you realized that yet? Return it to the hospital and get a refund b4 its too late! I have 3 kids. One is for sale...

Grats 'Scippy!

Just be sure to raise her using the various pieces of wisdome and enlightenment around these boards (ie: my posts)
and I'm sure she'll realize who to fly for.

Actually true to form it has a romulan history. Star trek 5, the romulan ambassador was named Caitlin Dar. Yes a C not a K, but you know.... 8)   Congrats Man!  Um, er, so the romulan genes were dominant?

Congrats. Miine was playing OP on my knee at two, and now fires it up from a cold PC to being on the Forge losing me PP, at age four, all by himself.  yesterday he wiped IE off the kids PC, D/L and installed Firefox, uninstalled Norton, installed AVG Home, 'cause he had read they were better. All while I was doing something out in the yard.  If global warming affects agriculture I have no doubt my generation will become Soylent Green.

Congrats Sir - and good choice on names! (that from our daughter Caitlyn ;D )

Keep the camera handy and take lots of pictures - soon it'll be hard to believe she was ever that small!

All the best to the whole family!

S'Cipio breeding, I think we're ok.   Now, if I started, then things would certainly start getting interesting.    :skeptic:

Congrats to you and your lovely bride!  I look forward to seeing pictures of my new adopted niece.   And tell Nicholas that he always has his uncles to help him out when needed.    Poor guy, I know he was hoping to even out the odds.

ALL HAIL THE NEW GORN PRINCESS KAITLYN !!

  I thought they hatched

My sister's 3 kids were all premies - 2 months early!  The twin girls were 1lb 10oz and 2lb 2 oz and their thighs were about the size of my pinky finger at birth.  The boy was 3lbs and some.  All 3 are big and into fully annoying their Unka Kzinbane at any and all opportunity now (and he hates it SO much too).  So anywho a couple weeks should be a breeze for the little lady & it mainly means it'll just be a bit longer until she sleeps all night (heh heh).
Congrats!
