Title: Shield program for SFC2?
Post by: Roychipoqua_Mace on February 02, 2007, 05:53:19 pm
Hello. I was wondering if there was a program out there that let you see your shield strength in percent or units, either on the main screen or accessed through the shield panel. It would seem like something someone would've made, because SFC is pretty popular.

I'd be interested in this too.

The only way you can do this is by press your engineering panel and looking at how much energy is allocated to it.That you set it to by using the K key this about the only way to do this.I hope this helps.

Don't think that's what they're looking for, Age... Think he's talking about shield strength, not power allocation.

what he want is like your shield are at 33%, the power allocation only show how much power you put to the shield.

The closest to that you can get is having the full tactical package running.  It'll tell you how much damage was done to your shields in points.

What's full tactical package?

and I don't think there is one as required by the original poster... The shield levels on the weapon-hardpoint display does change shades depend on damage, but that's as close to one as I've seen.

If you turn on VollyInfo you can see Hull damage, but I've never noticed it display shield damage.

EZIni is a program written by MagnumMan that allows you to edit certain settings in the SFC2:OP Ini file.  Useful for setting the game resolution, since the only other way to do it was manually, and if you don't know what you're doing you can screw up your game by playing with that file.  One of the settings was VollyInfo, which shows just how much damage was done to all other ships.  But only Hull Damage.

I think you can get something similar using either F10 or F11.  It gives the damage of all shots fired, etc.

Thanks for responses,
I did mean something that would say like 95%. I've played around with the volleyinfo, too, but I don't think there's a program that someone has made that would actually say the percent, or even just the actual shield points left.
I do use the F10 all the time, though to see how much damage I'm doing to other ships. It's useful because it gets you just within the optimum range "bracket."
