My new computer came with Vista which is not to bad...... Until you try to get on any Gaming Server. It wont let you. I have tried for the past few days to get on The Forge, Neverwinter Nights, Freelancer, etc. It seems that you can get on most every other web site out there except for servers for Gamers.

I don't have Vista but I'd suggest that you check your firewall settings and perhaps there are some new security settings that you may need to check as well.
-
Yeah, remember that even XP's firewall is gamer-proof, and they supposedly improved on that so I'm surprised it even let you post that.
-
Try turning off the firewall. I don't have Vista so I don't have the slighest clue as how to do it lol.

What he siad... ;D

Don't forget to pull your computer's Vista pants down around your ankles and bend over when you login to the SG servers. ;D
-
There will not be any help from me. I would need a copy of Vista to help anyone. ;D

Go to your manufacturer's website, find your model computer, download the latest drivers for Windows XP, save them to a flash drive or CD, then get a copy of Windows XP and reformat your entire system, and use the latest drivers to set up your hardware. Then, burn your copy of Vista.

Vista is a waste of system resources. It has no new features, unless you call DRM having more ways to piss you off a feature, lots of eye-candy, and lots of system overhead.

No Joy still...... About to reload XP >:(

Not sure why you are haveing problems with gameing servers. I am running Vista and can get on all my gameing servers without a problem.

How did you get yours to work, need details. :)

There was limited access to kernal data, from what I have been told by my tech people, so a great deal of applications may hang up while loading.
-
I thought it would be that Vista is using DirectX 10, and that there would be compatability issues.
-
You probably have to allow the executables to pass through the firewall.

Hey,
I've been using Vista for about 5 months and I've not had any problems with connecting to servers.
However, if disabling the firewall doesn't work, you can also try running the program as an Administrator. That give it a little extra privledges.
Right Click Game Icon -> Run as Administrator
I find that I've not had to disable the firewall for anything to work. It does very well detecting any program and adjusting to it.
Hope that helps.
