I've been hearing rumours on OP crashing on Vista because of a color scheme issue? Is this true?
-
Well, maybe for Kroma...
-
unfortunately it is true. Theres allot about vista that sucks, and this is one of those things ::)

Got OP up and running on Vista. My bad ::) I forgot to put in the new drivers for the new video card :smackhead:

I spent the last summer working at Best Buy in the computer department. Two of my coworkers(they loved to drag us in for Sunday morning meetings around 7:30 ::) ) were beta-testing Vista and they both had the same opinion: it sucks.
I'm sticking with XP. I'll update the RAM, and the hard-drive as necessary, but it'll be at least 6 months, until MS works out the bugs, before I invest in a new computer...

It ain't just OP, ALL games run better on XP than they do on Vista.

It's the "Evil Empire" forcing us to buy X-Box :o

Well think about it: Vista requires a 1 gig processor, which is over 3 times the power of XP's minimum spec. Since Vista needs 3 times the machine XP did, to get the same performance as you had with XP, you'll need 3 times the machine you currently have. In other words, to get OP running as well as it did on your 2 gig system with XP, you'll need a 6 gig system with Vista.

Thats not true. Because when running OP under either, windows is in the background. The min specs of OP haven't tripled either.
Also, ever notice that the minimum specs for games are the same for computers running both XP and 98? Theres a marginal difference, but its not great.

good point, I stand corrected. I recall seeing nearly everything that runs on XP made before 03 has a minimum spec of 300 MHz, same as XP, where 98 will run stuff down to 166 (I think)

Although I do agree it will run a little better :)
