Title: SG7 Kills/RP Thread (sticky)
Post by: Dizzy on April 07, 2007, 12:56:09 pm
Let the carnage begin! Post you kills and rant and rave about the battle!

Besides the nasty RP stories and humiliating pics, I'd like the format to be as follows: Wraith's F-CC killed Krueg's K-D7C for 1 point, stardate 2273.xxx. If you make a kill and it's not worth a point it may still count for something else, so put that it's 0 points but post it anyway.

Notice that the Names and Ships are color coded and bolded and the points are in bold. It's easier to pick thru the posts and count them when you do it this way. Thanks in advance.

OedipusHexx's L-CF destroys Bearslayer's F-CS+ for 1 point in a well fought match.  The larger hull was the difference player skill wasn't.  Well fought Bear, very nice piloting.

Crim's D6DB and Feyd's R-KRC  engaged Dizzy's F-DNL  and Wraith's F-CS+ and the KRC was destroyed for 1 point to the Alliance in 2267.52.

A Tbomb bukkake to the DNL that messed it up pretty bad let Crim and Feyd keep it competitive, but in the end Wraith ran down Feyd while Crim performed a perfectly timed HET to escape. Nice match guys.

I'm doing what works. You don't need to know anything else. Besides, why shoot for a Legendary ship when you're already a Legendary Captain in anything you fly?

What have you killed lately?

Dizzy's F-DNL chases Farious's (sp?) R-KRC  into a rock for 1 Alliance Point in 2267.5x.

- A line ship(s) is exempted from the disengagement/destruction penalty unless opposed by another line ship(s).
- A line ship is worth no points if faced on a 1v1 by a BCH or larger ship.

Under these rules, this should not be counted as a point.
Title: Re: SG7 Kills/RP Thread (Sticky)

Dizzy's F-DNL destroyed Reejr's Z-CD+ for 1 Alliance Point in 2267.58.

Under the same rule, are we considering the droners "not-line" ships?

And can we finally get this thread stickied?

Thre KRC is a command cruiser, does the "line" ship designation only apply to non-command varients?

Funny...on SGO6 they were and I would have sworn they were listed in the line ship list originally.
So...in every 3 player fleet we have to have one non "specialty" (droners, fast cruiser, escort, carrier), non-capitol, non-command, line ship, huh?
Ok...I hope both sides are aware of that then.  ;D

I was going to ask that, but the rule actually says . . . .

- In a Three player fleet, one of the three must be in a line or command cruiser class ship.

I definately need simpler rules for AOTK3  ;D

Krueg dont make a scene in springer chat. Take it to the RM forum if u have an issue with the rules for further comment, but let this be the last of it here so I can clear it up for any other player who doesnt have it right.

First of all, the only rule change I'm aware of since we started the server is the part where .5 or less move cost ships are worth points when facing another of similar size and that's a clarification.

You are getting two rules confused. DH is quoting Fleeting rules which indicate command or line ships may be used as a third ship only. That has nothing to do with the PvP Point rules where line ships are free kills when facing a BCH or larger vessel one on one. Command cruisers are not line ships and that part was drawn up before the server started. Nothing has changed.

Notice when that thread says it was edited.

Rule changes will be made as the server goes on and you will be notified of any changes that affect you or that may be retroactive and you probably will have to vote on it to take effect like the proposed X-ship fleeting we are discussing in RM forum. If there is a problem, Krueg, take it up with me there. Not here, please.

Mosh Pit Rules:
- Mosh pit is located in the middle of the map between Fed and Klink space.
- It is considered hazardous space and limited to single non X ships with .67 or less move cost or an FF/PF Squadron which counts as a single .67 ship.
- For a group of two or three, one player may fly a .67 ship, the other wingmates must be move cost .5 or less.

Actually I'm relieved- I didn't recall drafting a 3rd person, and after my wing dropped I shoulda ran but stayed  and killed em both anyhow. I always figured Agave woulda put up a better fight- now the mission makes sense.

Thanks for the help Krueg but I have read the rules many times. Damn thats alot to remeber after being away for some time. I had not heard of any rule changes until I saw that post and thought it was a new change so I asked the question and yes, a simple yes or no would have been nice.

On another note I believe the rust has been fully removed so I will be leaving the pit and getting a bigger ship. Not only for my simple lust for blood but it seems my minnow has scored a point before I.

Wait till u see this one:

Malak's I-CCY and Dizzy's F-CS+ engage HohHooch and Mutt flying a L-BCPp and L-STJ   along with DreadPirateGeek in a D7L. All 3 are destroyed in 2271.103 for 5 Alliance Points.

Malak had to redraft to get the connection to hold and DreadPirateGeek was a third wheel not included in the 1st draft. So she stayed at a distance while Malak almost died and then disengaged after Mutt and HohHoch were destroyed and then DreadPirateGeek engaged me and got tractored into a rock... after like 3 tries... Intense Battle...

vgg guys... I think I need to check my blood pressure after that match... Attached is the zip. I still can't believe how Malak survived. It was really an amazing match with both sides trying desperately to kill the others capital ship. A very good film to watch... and funny at times too.

Dfly's BCPp  along with Shadowlord's SUA  vs Bearslayer's NCL+ and Jem's CC+ and Veronica Farbot's CS+(Dizzy for short).    Was a very good match with Jem's ship dying for 1 coalition point and a few minutes later the mission ended for no reason but it was well flown by all.

To properly edit the text, highlight the name of the player and then press the 'Grey and Black B Button above the smily bars'. Then highlight the name again and click on the 'Change Color box and selct the colors.'

We did see you do better than 28 in the start.  We discussed it and we were sure you had it up to speed 30 for our first 2 volleys.  I beleive that when I broke your shields and did 18 internals, and then the second volley did another 15, we hit a couple engines and that slowed you to 28.  There is when I was able to hit you from the rear with ESGs and hurt your engines enough for me to tow you back to LK so we could finish you. You were close to the line and if it were not for engine hits, you might have made it.

After an hour long match Felicity Shagwell's F-DVL   was forced off the map by an excellent entrapment cornering move by Soth's R-SUA  and Duck's R-SHR  and ultimately forced the disengagement of FrogHard's I-CAY. Unfortunately for the Coalition, Soth was crippled by a last second volley from the DVL before it warped off the map and Soth's R-SUA attempted to limp off ever so close to the border but the killing blow came by several few remaining F-14's with phasers and drones. 1 Alliance Point in 2273.xxx.

While it is technically a strategic victory for the Coalition, they lost a ship by accomplishing it.

Guys, AWESOME game... I needed that. I had way too much damage to stick around and get hit by that last plasma volley and didnt have the angle to take it on a good shield... I just can't believe that you guys stuck around as long as you did... You 2 made a hell of a game out it when most others would have quit.

ISC Carrier Setup:

There's 2 lines, the I-CV(Z) / I-CVS(Z) - Fleet and Fleet Strike carrier.  They are the CA-hulled carriers.
I-CVA(Z) is the DN-hulled carrier, PPD-only variant, no plasma's available.

It is a CA hull with a 1 move cost and we dont use bpv for any kind of hull or move cost determination and if you did his bpv would have been much high because of his ftrs but yours would have been much higher because of you Med. spd. drones. Here is a snippet of the rule:

Running perfectly suits Felicity Shagwell's F-DVL  as of late as long as it wins her the right to fight another day and run she did along with Jeff's I-CSP  at her side protecting the severely wounded DN as she struggled off the map being pursued by MRogue's Z-CVA+.  But laid wasted out in the barren void of space lay starship flotsam... bits and pieces of Chuut's R-KRCS, some parts still being held by Jeff's tractor beam...

1 Alliance Point.

GG Guys! Almost died again... I had no hull due to battle damage from a prior mission so just that little wee bit of damage blacked out half my systems and dropped my power by half. Sticking around would mean death and no DN captained by me will fall so easily. Live to fight another day!

Stardate 2275.250 Sector 20,5. Captain Foxxy Cleopatra commanding a G-CCH  along with FPF-Paladin in his F-CLC are escorting Stargazer's F-DVL  when they are intercepted by Futar's L-BCPp, Duck's R-SUK  and DreadPirateGeek's K-D7L.

The battle lasted over 40 minutes I believe and as we were heading out to disengage from taking a rather bad beating to our side when Stargazers Fighters were launched and chaos broke out. I was dropped to 8 power when I managed to warp off, but not before I unloaded a full Plasma load into DreadPirateGeek's D7L with a perfectly timed HET manuever because she had dodged the wrong way to avoid a mine and let me get the perfect bead on her. That set the stage for the coalition fleet to split with all three of their ships going different directions and as I warped off, Stargazer and Paladin circled around for the kill but were screened by Duck's SUK protecting DPG's D7. But Futar had broke formation to make the kill on me and left Duck alone to screen DPG which didnt look like it went as Duck planned. The DN and CLC didnt buy the screen and charged and Duck got run down and killed before Futar could circle back around and get into attack position.

So then the Feds turned attention to the Lyran which led them straight into DPG. She was pretty shot up and not making good speed so the Feds bank off the Lyran and offed the D7L. Doing this, however, lets the Lyran Battlecruiser slip into a nice position just aft of the two Feds and they start chasing each others tail trying to get a firing solution but the BCPp is too tough and the Feds way too shot up so after a crushing ESG hit to the CLC in a brutal exchange of fire that did far more damage to the Feds than the Lyr, it was tacobell time and the Lyran forced the Feds out.

Another strategic win for the coalition in terms of forcing out capital ships but at the extreme cost of ship attrition.

With no Alliance losses, Score 2 Points for the Alliance.

Wonder how many Alliance round 2 points dont involve f-14s?

I count 1 point only.

That is 3% in case anyone is wondering.  ::)

I don't fault the Feds for using them, its the smart thing to do, I'm just making an observation.

Learned a couple of lessons tonight...at green alert, the NCM's point defense do NOT fire (always wondered if they did or did not).  Also, a Lyran DN CAN destroy a DE with it's esg's alone.  Good lessons...have fun guys.

Good sport awards to both Krueg and Warp 10...I'm being bitchy tonight, loaded with pain killers and they're not working and while I should be used to hopeless causes I'm just being depressed about the whole thing...

So a pvp in a blackhole doesn't count for vc points?

Dont worry about dying, the PvP VC's are so hard to turn into actual points that its not worth bothering unless you start losing like a couple cruisers every night.

And yes, black hole hexes dont allow scored points. So his kill on your CLC doesnt count. Did he post it as a kill?

Black hole hexes are where you dont have to worry about giving up a PvP point to another player if u lose. You will still lose your ship if u die tho.

Dfly's L-STL Dreadnought engages and is destroyed by Ivanahumpalot's I-CCZ  on Stardate 2279.127.

Score 6 Alliance Points.

Dfly's Mauler DN just couldn't shake the CCZ off his tail and got too shot up to disengage. Several intense moments where the battle could have seesawed either way with each ship getting hit hard, this 38 minute film is invaluable in how to deal with Maulers. It's a what to do and what not to do. It's all about turn mode, power management, shield reinforcement and mojo.

Attached is the film.

End Round Two VC's.

Start Round Three

I count 17 Kill points for the Coalition. + 10 for the Mosh pit hex = 27.

Alliance needs 56 PvP points to score an Attrition VC point.

I count 41 kill points for the Alliance. No VC's awarded.

There were no VC's awarded in the 1st round. This round, if I am not mistaken, the Coalition had 2 gorn and 2 Fed planets. That nets 2 VC's

The Romulan Ministry of Truth is pleased with this picture.  Thank you for broadcasting the last public visit of the "Drunken Warrior", at the Klingon "We hate surrender" day ceremonies.  I'm surprised your agent wasn't part of the bonfire where the white flags and rasperry berets were burned... oh, I forgot, he was busy "scooping" this information for your intelligence bureau... :P

You might want to conduct an "investigation" and find out why your officers might not be telling you about seeing that ship, that is, if they survive the encounter... :P

Thank you for your time and concern though...  Sincerely, the Romulan Ministry of Trvth...

I know u didnt, but someone a bit earlier tagged me with some negative Karma for that pic, heh.
I guess they don't understand it. Velvetacidchrist does. He'll recognize the lyrics from the band.
He understands he's lost two Z-DN's to me so far this server. So much for all his god complex smack talk.
He understands I wasn't the one who started this, but I will finish it. What's next Velvetacidchrist?
Do you have enough for a B10K?  What's the matter? Are your 1000+ Ladder matches not helping?

"God complex"? Hmmmm...where have I heard about someone should be "worshiped as a God"...

No kills, but worth mentioning, alone on patrol, IvanaHumpalot's I-CCZ is engaged by Duck's K-C7, MaxSterling's R-SUK and Reejr's Z-DWD in a nebula. All three are forced to disngage. Long live the Concordium!

All of them were driven off in the past couple of days while I was flying it.

So... :stfu:

Yeah you beat me. After I spend 45 min in a battle with some other Klink which the name escapes me right now, in 45 min he didn't do one internal on me and disengaged. I get out of the mission and get drafted right away. I'm not ready for this, not to mention my nicotine level was at a all time low.

Only my third pvp in 3 years. Nothing to brag about.

But you did beat me, no excuses on my part.

sure send it via mail ;-)

its nearly 10 years now since i 1st heard a song of vac, it was "futile" and i loved it because he used trek samples and stuff. every cd i sat there and reading the booklet/lyrics of the songs while listening... i even met other fans in game that thought i m brian erickson ^^ ah was fun.

You sure talk a lot of crap for someone who runs at the first sign of losing a match.  In spite of that, you're going down like a fat man off the high dive before the server is over.

Hah, you talk smack! Guess what? I just ran off Reejr's Z-DWD, MaxSterling's R-SUK and ShadowLord's K-C7f all by myself in my I-CCZ. I'd say I don't run at the first sign of losing a match. I'd say I know which battles I can win and which I can't. Guess what else? On a previous server I destroyed Capt. Jeff's F-NCL+, DieHard's F-CC+ and Wanderer's F-CVS+ all by myself in my R-NHK... List goes on and on... But I'll tell you a secret. If I do run at the 1st sight of my enemy, it's because I have decided you have already beaten me. Take that as a compliment if you see me turn tail because it means I recognize you have some skill.

Bottom line is that you don't have the right to talk smack. Who have you killed lately?

Due to the drafting situation and the 3v1 odds wraith stood up to the bat and offered a 1v1 -- after a hard fought knife fight Wraith died to a hail of drones +3 pts  and Bearslayer then reqested we contine the 1v1 even allowing me to land my PF's to even things up -- he forced me off the map and the entire team showed honour and courage.. +1 Karma for offering me the 1v1 battle and for you team standing down while we fought.

With reports of a B10K Klingon Battleship in the area, Ivanahumpalot's I-CCZ   patrols the neutral zone of ISC/Klingon Space. 1st encountering Aviator's C7f the battle finds her running cowardly for the border after a quick skirmish. Immediately upon warping out, along comes Mrogue's K-D5P  which is quickly dispatched for 1 Alliance Point. Soon thereafter LordKrueg's D5D flees as well making a hasty retreat for some other less threatening combat/AI front. When ShadowLord commanding his B10K realizes all his wingmates have either been forced to flee or destroyed, he realizes, quite correctly, that he may be next and decides to retire to fight another day as well.

Is there no champion of the Coalition who can stand the might of the true ISC?

LOL..retire...yeah he retired to where a fatter kill point target lay alone.
Kinda like what you like to do.  ;D
He actually wanted to fight you alone, but you kept sitting in that black hole hex, unless you were trying to jump CLs...
I saw you try to get me twice and fail before you finally did... :P
And he wanted it to count if he was going to fight you.
Finally, in disgust, (and under orders) he went where he could get kills that would count.
And the move paid off.  ;)

Interestingly enough, it listed Star as having a BCH when you right clicked on his name. I can see where it might be a little confusing....
Maybe because he had never heard of a CBFf, either.
No biggie, it'll be counted correctly.

maybe CBFf is a dyslexic BCFf?  the letters just inverted, that would be a 3 point ship.

My apologies to all, I was just a little dyslexic when I wrote it, it was a BCFf.  It definitely had the 2 plasmas on it.  I will amend my post about it to the proper ship.

just a note, to my knowlege, there is no CBFf, just a CBf in the shiplist, but I flew vs the BCFf and inverted the letters without knowing.

Fighters   ::)

Cheeze

On the other hand, General-Kruk's CX  brings down Soth1's DXD  in a excellent battle that saw 6 OL torps hit at range 8.5 to secure the win. SP did the rest.

Unfortunatly due to some strange rule, the win doesn't count because I wasn't suppose to fly another X ship for 12 hours. Who made up those rules anyways   ::)

In the final minutes of the war WG-Malaks I-CCX loses contact for the second time the Dreatpirategeek K-C10f (m) ??

Between those mirvs, fighters and PF's I couldn't get close enough for a clean shot with my plas R's. GG geek, I'll see you again soon (hopefully without all that cheese).

+1 for keeping me on my toes !!!

Good job on the other PvP fight though.   Good to see you still got the "stuff."

I'm trying, but it's hard coming back after 3 years and having to deal with all those new rules and regulations. Not to mention PF's and fighters in late ERA

Yeah, I guess I will

I love the CX however, great at Hex munching. The CLX is not bad either but could use a few more points of power. Great turn curve though, just like the CLC

Does anyone else find it amusing to see an X-ship battle consider "the other hand" from the one containing "cheese"?  I know I do.

No offense to you Kruk, but almost everything on the shiplist this last week has been totally cheddery.

Iron Captains Wooden starsh*ts and the 2260s for me anyday.

The early X-ships give pilots a non-Attrition option in late era.   Figured that's right up your alley.  Show up to the training matched in the next couple of weeks before AOTK3 and I'll have 100% up to speed

And I agree with you, although I would consider the CX to be more of a light Dread then cheese. Having 8 fighters lunching a sh*t load of drones on you from range 8, plus the 4 highspeed drones from the C7V at the same time, now that is a lot of Swiss and Cheddar without any wine involved.

Not as much as I like CC battles in early.   ;)

But you can't fault me for loving the C7 killer.

Never fly them much anymore anyhow X-ships make them obsolute when they arrive fresh from the yard these days.

So a .67 move cost ship that pwns C7s is okay, but these X-ships are too much.   I buy that logic   ;D

If you were flying the C7 would you be pwned?   The DF kills people too, people who have no business being killed by a DF.

Which one of you caught me last night on the Klingon planet we have up in Gorn space?  It was around 1:30-2:00 A.M..  Sorry I dropped out, but I crashed to desktop, and I was just planning on stocking my ship and getting off anyway.  It's a bit of a shame, really, as I have this really nice C10Kf that's just begging to be flown against the Alliance.

That would have been Agave and myself.

He was in a G-BCS and I was in a F-PF_Ld.  Could have been an interesting battle though I doubt my eggshell hull would have survived it....

Yeah, sorry about the Mirvs.  I didn't realize FiCons weren't allowed, but the guys clued me in.  In our second fight I just had plain GIDs.

I'm looking forward to meeting you in space again.  I'll keep the disruptors warm.

Amazing that you, as a part time player knew this... but some others, who are long time nutters, didn't....

He didn't know because it was only posted about not using the PFL the day before, as it was only discovered the Leader's launched additional PFs late in the server, that has never happened before, and I failed to make a post in the Coalition forums to notify all my pilots.
So I guess the fault is mine.
Perhaps had we had more testing time the error would have been discovered sooner than 3 days before the server ended when the PFLs came out.

I think we'll just write it off as a lesson learned, just like all the ones like not flying CAs in the Mosh Pit, disengagement radius, gotta have 1 CC or line ship in a 3 player fleet, putting X in your shipname for X ships, etc.  ;)
Considering the amount of rules and mid-server rule changes, it's no small wonder... ;D

For round 3 I come up with:
21 kill points for the Alliance

38 Kill points for the Coalition. Plus 10 kill points for the Planet in the center of the Mosh Pit makes 48 Kill points.

Does that mean the Coalition scored an additional PvP VP...?

Quit picking on t00l!!!

As if he is the only one.  But I will admit, that was perhaps the funniest one.

The actual list of DF victims includes many others who had no business being killed by one.  One mistake is all it takes usually, but it hardly makes ships like these uber in anyway, just fun to fly.
