Title: FIrewall issue....
Post by: Kavik on April 07, 2007, 01:06:03 pm
Can't log on.... says I have a firewall up...

ICS is OFF and has been confirmed off.

No other firewall is on...

Is the directory down?

Turn off your windows firewall. Turn off your 3rd party Firewall. Unplug from your router and go straight into the back of your computer unless you have cofiged your routers ports perfectly. So basically pull your computers pants down and bend over.

This game was made b4 firewalls came out and it wont work with them. Sorry guys.

Have you ever been able to connect to the dyna with this OP installation?  Did you apply the directory patch?

Not quite 'completely' true.

I've gotten the same error occasionally but the culprit is a bad ping reply. If your service provider is slow because of high usage by others , or if your mobo is playing games with your PCI bus you may get this error.

Try re-booting and re-logging to your service provider.

My turn I guess.  Same system setup as every other night playing online in SG07, till tonight.  I am the only one on this system but tonight it decided to tell me that I either have a firewall or I am not online.  I cannot get into the dyna, and I know others are there.  I have rebooted 4 times, tried logging on a total now of 21 times.  I have also rechecked my firewall in case it had fixed itself and was for some reason working, which it is not as it is still not only off, but unable to turn on.  No routers or other systems nearby.

I just hope no one else runs into this.  BTW, I logged into GSA just in case, and all is coming up as fine as it can over there.

Any suggestions(other than the router or firewall, which I have neither)?

Shussh, don't jinx it. It might hear you and decide to stop working again.

In order to maintain this "working" status I suggest you sacrifice three chickens to the dark lord bill gates.

All is vista, and vista is all!

So sayeth.
