Sorry that was Two Million. Typo. I fixed it in the above post.

Wow, I'm six in prestige for the Feds, and I only flew Monday - Wed.
That's sad.
-
I'm 5th and I've only gone today, and last saturday and sunday.
-
Thanks ED for that.
I love it when a plan comes together. ;D

I peronally wish to commend all those Alliance pilots who have made the top of their lists. You guys got off to a very rough start since your RM had real life issues to attend to (these things happen, nothing anyone can do about it). Despite this adversity you have shown yourself good sports with little complaint and have been putting up fierce resistance. I salute you.
Now that you have a new leadership that can be active and begin putting together plans, you will be even more formidible. With a modest increase in numbers your defense has visibly stiffened and every bit of gain of your foes has been hardfought and often painfully earned. You stand like Leonidas and the 300 and aren't rolling over but casting down the gauntlet and declating Molan Labe!
Pat yourselves on the back, and don't get discouraged, you are earning respect, accept this prize that you have earned. Servers come and go, you may win some you may lose some, but respect is something that can't be taken away by another.
But do not fail to recognize the achievements of your foes and give them their due for their hard work and organization. They might have had advantages in numbers and in missions run, but they had these due to effort and strategy. It is no fault of theirs that they had all pistons firing from day one.
For the Coalition Pilots I have to say you have done an awesome job. You have shown up and played long hours and the fruits of you dedication show. Having a numbers advantage during the early part of the server does not take away a single thing from the efforts you have put forth, and it is a credit to you and your RM staff as well, for putting it together and getting things done.
Don't begrudge the loss of a few "wild geese" to the other side, they signed up knowing that they might be called upon and did so willingly. This was known at the beginning of the server and even if you question the timing or the usage, it wasn't a surprise that they were called. You can be oppossed to the idea of having them at all, but we all new there were wild geese when we signed on and we all chose to play.
Also, when you celebrate your hard won sucesses think a moment about the other side who have had their sucesses as well and salute them for doing so under tough conditions, give them the respect that they rightfully deserve.
-
I thank you Dizzy for those lists. They really help demonstrate where and why a map may look like it does, and perhaps help to explain the need for some WG. And thanks for the server.
-
WG are simply to even out the player numbers so far. Here's another statistic: Since the WG have deployed, 3 players from the Coalition have been playing for the Alliance since about Fri.
Player numbers are starting to even out at times... Mornings usually see a strong Coalition presence of about 4 to 1 ratio, the afternoons see even numbers and the evening it's usually a few more coalition players to alliance and then the night crew is mostly coalition. So the coalition still have the player number lead and combine that with the map Hexes lead they have, can they score a point during the 1st VC round or will their strong opening lead have to wait till round 2? Stay tuned till 11pm central time tonight to find out!
Ebb and flow. It happens every server. I don't expect 3 WG players to make much a difference considering the Statistics posted, but every player helps morale and keep other players interested in playing especially when they have friends to wing with. Let's not forget the reason most of us are playing this game... is to have fun. I'm not playing to have fun, however, I'm just here to kill players. Or get them killed... Sorry Jem. ;)
-
Yea, great lists.
I don't feel like just a body (to even out the player counts) but my G/F agrees with ya and she want my body soon.
:P
Anyhow I'm glad I could help (with the body count), and stop being afraid to wing me Dizzy, I promise not to get you killed.
163 missions (51 as a goose/ 4 kills, 2 run-offs)- sometimes I feel like a nut-er.
GG to everyone, 2 more weeks to go.
-
How much longer will the server run?
-
How much longer will the server run?
2 more weeks. Plenty of time for an old Gorn to shake off the rust.
-
Stardate right now is 2273.325
There are 365 turns a year and One day per game year. So the server will end sometime in 2285-2287 depending.
-
Stardate is 2281.3xx
This is a bump. New stats for round two are posted at the top.
Individual player stats will be posted at the end of the server...
-
thx for that and enjoy the beach dizzy - dont get too sunburned though ^^
-
It seems the link to the individual player stats goes to a recently deactivated account.

It sucks...I'm working 15+ hour days and don't really have time to play on the server (even been working weekends). It's all in preparation for some stuff going on at the California Democratic Party Convention this weekend in San Diego...so I won't be able to log on at all from here on out (flying down today). *sigh* Great server...just can't get time to play. Maybe we can have a server where there isn't a political campaign/event going on for me...oh wait, never mind. California hasn't seen a time without one of those since...2001.

Don't lie to the people, Judge. You're still shaking and having anxiety attacks from the last time you faced me.
So am I but the shaking is the good kind ;)

Map Stats:
A difference of 160+ Alliance hexes were captured by the Coalition for a total difference of more than 1,700 DV shifts not including neutral hexes which I estimate at being another 70 hexes difference in favor of the Coalition for a total of more than 560 DV shifts for a total of more than 2,260 DV shifts for the Coalition more than the Alliance. Add the Mosh pit and you get another 150 for a total of 2,410. Keep in mind the totals are probably far higher and this is a low estimate.
*Note* Thorough examination of the missions flown by the Coalition more than the Alliance compared to the total DV shifts shown above leaves a confounding difference of around 5,000+ possible missions flown by the Coalition that could be explained in a number of ways. With a higher number of missions flown there is more chance more missions were not resolved, i.e., drops disconnects, host lefts, incorrect DV shifts etc. Most were likely the result of attacks that were not translated into measurable hex captures. The remainder was likely due to PvP and the fact that the Alliance won more PvP battles than it lost which partly explains the higher Average PP/Mission statistics for the Alliance than Coalition...
-
Could also be explained by the number of pilots in a mission 3 pilots in one mission = 3 missions on the stats, but = 1 mission for DV purposes.
Average prestige wll be effected also by what type of mission it is, and whether or not you capture enemy ships for bonuses.
Take an example of Mirak vs Gorn. The Gorn total prestige per mission is very high compared to the other races, this is likely due to 2 factors, Gorn ships flown more often as a percentage in PvP, and Gorn ships performing alot of captures. Mirak ships do not usually take the time for a capture with drones coming quickly online, wheras a plasma captain has more incentive to do so. With Mirak ships the better trade off is to move on to the next mission and run another mission and make money by doing it fast. The average prestige is lower, but the end result is higher. With running more missions in this manner there is also in general a lesser percentage of PvP fights even though the total number of PvP fights may well be the same as the Gorn and given equal results for the oucomes of these fights the Mirak totals will still be lower due to the averaging out with the other missions.
So its really hard to draw alot out of these numbers beyond the basics of how many missions were run, and even that doesn't say everything as pointed out by the 3 pilot per mission vs 1 pilot per mission example above.
-

I think so.
I only flew 365 missions tha entire server? :o
-
I also noticed the PP stats ore only whats left 'in the bank'- they don't include the ship your flying in.
-
That's true, Malak. My FelecityShagwell account had a Battlecruiser which isnt added to my pp total. That solves another part of the pp riddle. But the missions flown is solid... I think.
DH, Chuut flew over a thousand. Well over.

From what I saw in missions where I captured ships, there was very little extra prestige points given for captures. So, I didn't really do much of it. I think I captured ships maybe in 10 missions only. I would think that the high PP per mission total for the Gorn is directly related to all the PvP matches that were in our ships. The great weapon arcs on Gorn ships were used for escort duty for Alliance heavy metal throughout the server. Not to mention Dizzy's nice PvP run of kills with the CCH.
Maybe the server just appreciated our Bruce work ethic more than all the other empires. ;)

Oh, and thanks Dizzy for the stats rundown. It makes for a very good read.
(As long as I made it to the top of the Gorn stats ;D ::) )
-
Thanks for the Stats there Dizzy.
Week One: Mir) Soreyes 160055, 403
Week two and Three: ISC) Soreyes 220096, 579. Fed) Soreyes The Fed 12745, 35 ISC) WG Soreyes 3034, 10
And heck Week Three was shot to hell..... I just did not think my New Boss would understand my need to shoot down Klingons ;D

Wow! I missed 40% of the server and flew almost 90% of your number of missions....that DNH must have slowed you down. ;D

Yup most of them in the first 2 weeks, I din't run all that many in week 3.
Week 1 was likely my best period, since I love arly era, I tend to fall out a bit when it gets to late era, especially if my side is up by a good bit.
-
Fun playing the server.
I did have to learn to play the game after almost 3 years none active so i didnt look for pvp but with SGO8 you can try to kill me.
cya ppl

hmmm
General-Kruk 62239, 148. Hmmm, not bad for a first time in 3 years +. this was mostly done in the last week too.
Do I get my nomination for best comeback now ;D
-
Dizzy,
Thanks for taking the time to provide us with these stats! My personal stats are a little off though. I was over the 180,000 mark on the final day of the server and it shows me slightly lower than that in the final stats. Must be a small glitch in the system. Not complaining mind you just an observation. Again thanks for everything. :)

I'm not sure that pp bonuses apply to the lifetime pp numbers which I believe are the ones listed. So perhaps it doesnt matter if you had purchased a DN as I had one thought, because that total isnt subtracted from you lifetime total. But I dont think pp rank bonuses are added to your lifetime total. So perhaps you had much more than this shows in the bank, but your lifetime total shouldnt be affected.
