Title: AI Version 1.01- Still Stupid?

I have been playing the beta patch for about 2 weeks now, and it seems that the AI are still pretty stupid when it comes to map hazards.

In the klingon mission "the winds of change" both of the Rakellian attack fleets, warped into asteriods.
Jureth in the last mission, ran into his own asteriodbase.
In Federation conquest mode, convoy raid in an asteriod field, both my AI wingmen flew into asteriods, as did 2 freighters.

In open space the AI behave and play like a human (takes almost 4 mins to kill a CA now) which i think is excellent, but cant they be made a bit smarter when it comes to navigating an asteriod field?

You have to know that the J'inn autopilot has been hard-coded into the game. It has been thoroughly tested in a variety of environments such as free space in a neutral hex, free space in a Fed hex (or Fedex?), free space in Borg space, free space in Rom Space and even in expensive space in Ferengui space (They have no free space).

To properly emulate the namesake of the autopilot, it was decided that each asteroid be considered as a black hole to properly attract the AI ships. It is working as it was planned.

The problem was that the auto-pilot never came back from Ferengi space...it ran out of money and the Ferengi threw the bum in jail. Sooooooo...we cant fix it if it ain't here.

You shouldn't see them manouver through a nebula. Your AI wingmen can't attack anything it seems.

Did you know that when you are tractored by an AI, you should tractor him? This way he breaks the tractor lock. Dumb AI.....lol

I just want to see the AI use tactical warp every once in a while (other than closing the distance in the beginning). Instead of using erratic manuveur and going in a striaght line.
