Well, decided to start my own thread rather than hijack Kats'. ;) I'm liking the way this is turning out...changing a few things that I feel make the ship more balanced...at this point using the pics that Kat posted for basic reference only...putting my own spin on things. ;D

As she stands now, poly count is 2008...still need to do the nacelles. Since I'm changing things some, what do you think about adding another nacelle? Make it a 4 banger rather than a 3? Maybe a couple drop bays on the underside, since we dont really get a view of it? Let me know.

Chuut could probably help you here. 3 engines may make for a good CL or War Destroyer. I hope we can use your parts modularly so a whole fleet can easily be bashed. But give us some ideas of how it would look with 3 or 4 engines. Symetrically speaking, since it has 2 drone wing pylons, 3 engines would seem good, but i need to see what 4 would look like.

Is that a CL or CA size ship? Looks like a CL... CA should be beefier mb...

OK, here she is with her engines in place...stayed with the 3 nacelle design...tried 4 but it didn't look right. She looks pretty good so far...tell me how detailed you want her mesh wise...she comes in at a little under 3000 polies...and I haven't started trimming yet. :o I figure I can add some detail without getting out of hand...maybe. :P ;D

Nice. I think the warps should be a little bigger, especially in relation to the huge drone pods.

Length of the nacelles looks okay, but I would go thicker and more oval than circular.

Well, started doing some detailing...up to a little over 5000 polies so far, but definitely worth it...looks good with them things. :P

Yeah. Makes a big improvement!

Starforce mentioned the "intercoolers" (I think they might be plasma injectors). They'd add a lot to the nacelles, IMO. I hope you can squeeze them in as well.

I looked at this model a couple of times, but could never get a good start that I liked with it. Nice going, Sandman.

OK, finished the deflector, added the inter-coolers and the missile tubes...ploy count is 6635. Think I should go higher? I generally try to keep it around this many polies...but being gone a year not sure if most people can the higher poly models or not? Anyway, atheorhaven has generously agreed to do the paint job for this puppy...and a couple others along this line. ;D So I'll be sending it to him if y'all think it's got enough polies. And yes, I realize the warps are the same...I felt they were right for this design. Asthetically the flattened oval shaped ones in the designs are great, but practically I feel they don't denote a true pre-TOS design even for an alien species. My own preference coming out I guess. :P ::)

I hope that when it is "painted" we can get the sybol of the Fanged god added.  I also hope a tad of detail can be added to the bridge to add those window viewports

Very nicely done, sir! I say send her to the paintshop ASAP so we can get this beauty into the game.

So has anyone decided what class of ship this is? Considering the scale of the bridge superstructure, I would think this is a large ship indeed. If that is the case, though, aren't the drone launchers a bit oversized? Just thinking out loud here.

Nope. I dont like my models going over 7k. ;) Looks way cool just as it is.

Sorted out the hardpoints yet?? It'll need a couple of forward disrupters mounts just off the centre line. Maybe two waist phaser mounts and two aft phaser mounts.

Can't wait to kill something with one!!

I'd make it a CS and roll with it from there. Other classes can then be derived from that starting point. She's Kzinti. So, she'll need a lot of phasers. ;)

The drone launchers are a bit of a paradox, IMO. I think that they should be large. They're basically ICBMs. Then they won't fit on fighters though.

Wow, guys thanx for the compliments!! :o I was afraid one of those old flamers might come around and piss me off again...knock on wood lol. :P Ok then, time to map her and send her to Alec for painting. Uhhh...btw...do I do hp/dp 1st or last...and it's dummy oblects right? Geez, what you forget when you don't do something for awhile!! :-[

I'd suggest HP this one on the Mirak CA UI. I'll defer to Chuut, tho, he's a Mirak expert and will know what size class this best fits in.

The Kzinti spend just as much time fighting each other in occasional civil disputes between dukedoms as they do fighting the Lyrans!!

It's only their mutal hatred of the Lyrans that stops them fighting!! Talk about felines being catty!!

The ship definately looks cool when compared to the usual  "Flying Salamader" look of TOS and TMP period 1980's SKYTREX model ships. Kzinti ships are always a bit behind when it comes to warp power usually.

There seems to be no such thing as a poorly armed Kzinti warship!!

Y'know ... your Glitchwerks is closer than mine (say that fast three times and it almost sounds dirty ... eeyew!) to the 'Real McCoy'; which is all good, as there needs to be as much variation in the Kzinti 'model-shot-in-the-arm' as possible. You've done an outstanding rendition, dude. :D

OK, just a quick note to let ya know I'm still mapping her...that always seems to take longer than the meshing does, at least for me. :P Between work and trying to figure out how to come up with the money for the dog I want (pedigreed blue-nose APBT), I haven't had much time to devote to it. I'll get her done, though. ;D
