Title: Any SOD to MOD file converters left?
Post by: Klingon Fanatic on July 15, 2007, 05:06:13 pm
Wow! Terradyhne's ST: Armada Conversion Empire and Federation 2 mod  http://www.terradyhne-yards.de/E&F2info1.htm has some really cool models...

Top 14 Terradyhne A2 ships I'd love to play in SFC:

Orion Trader
Orion Tortuga Asteroid base

Federation Construction ship (Oberth Variant)
Federation Holding Class
Federation Ostoris

Klingon Emperor
Klingon SuvwI QeH
Klingon Colony ship

Romulan T-7 Spitting Hawk
Romulan V-27 Comet of Destruction

Tholian Protector battlestation
Tholian Transporter

Gorn Alligator freighter
Gorn Parieas Scout

Now to seek Terradyhne's okay for these to be converted.

CV 0.7.5

But I recommend you use 3ds max, otherwise there will be no break models.

Well I don't have 3ds Max and CV CTDs when I try to use it on some Sod files I found at  ST: Armada II files site.

+1 karma for the suggestion though.

Lithium Unwrap (free version) can do Armada 1 sods. Lots of A2 sods are actually A1 sods, so give it a go.

Bangs head on wall... I need a good tutorial for how to convert *.sod to *.mod files.

I have Lithunwrap 1.3 from the link above.

I get an unrecognized file error 1.9 message when I select a ST:A2 model in *.sod format.

I d/l from the ST:A2 site the Romulan vorreel_by_adm_stacks for laughs and giggles and got nowhere so far.

I believe I've been able to import with 3d exploration first, though I don't know what it can do if anything in terms of breakmodels as I am not an sfc modder.

I am afraid you may not be able to convert A2 models using Lithunwrap 1.3. Depending on how desparate you are, you may want to check out Ultimate Unwrap ($50?). I think that that is what Major Payne uses, but he has been little or no help to me in this regard.

I also know that there is a Milkshape sod importer out there with the stock restriction unlocked, but Phantom at armadafleetcommand.com is the only one with it. I also have looked at and have the source code for the locked importer and believe I can unlock it, if someone can compile a C++ program. We have all the resources we need to get this done except someone willing to recompile the sourcecode.
