This is really strange as I've never experienced this before now. I'm using the same system I have played on before with the singular exception being the way I connect to the internet. Instead of DSL I now have high speed cable. I've checked all the settings from my ip to shutting off both the windows firewall and the Norton autoprotect. I am at a loss and growing irritated. Please Help......my wife will be grateful that my tantrum is over! :banghead:

Are you behind a router? I know D-link for example is a bit nit-picky with letting users join OP. ALso if your cable modem is sorta acting like a router(in routing mode, though it never actually is a true router), then ports will need to be forwarded like they would need to be on a router.

Okay, how about explaining this in writing or via a video tutorial 1 step at a time for us non-tech savy folks who WANT to play online on the D2?
Trust me, it will be worth your time in the long run as such a project will help other would be players get past the frustration factor...

There is great stuff up in the "How to" thread which is understandable by mortals. Don't forget to run the WON server updater after doing everything. You may even need to go DMZ for your game machine whiile gaming if you are behind a router.

Heh I found the problem.....forgot all about that stupid Vonage router my wife had put in to save money on the phone bill. What really kills me is she immediately went out and got cell phones for all of us....anyway I disconnected the thing and I can get on now.
The only issue I have to resolve now is the shiplist and fighter list. I think I have to do this manually if I remember right. Any body have the instructions handy for that?
I actually rememberd how to do this! 3 missions flown and all seems to be in working order! Now if I could just find a coalition pilot to spank........
