Small shuttle vehicle used for inspection tours at Starfleet's orbital drydock facilities.
The travel pod also serves to transfer personnel between orbital facilities and to starships.
A standard docking hatch is located at the rear end.
In 2285 Ensign Bernard Guignard was assigned as pilot for Travel Pod #05 and was responsible for delivering Dr.McCoy to the Enterprise prior to it's departure for the Regula I Space Laboratory.
