Title: Was this ship ever made?

Agreed. This is one of the nicer TNG designs that I've seen.

The ship just looks off for some reason and I think the nacelles are just too close. Is there any design notes with it? I'm curious as to the purpose of the green dome on the sacuer...

To me it looks like an agraculture area on the exploration ship. Giant greenhouse.
