Ok,
Just scanned my system and got False Positives on my Enhancement Package v5.2 and on 2 Gamespy Arcade files.. the Gamespy Arcade files are needed for the program to launch and I sent a copy of my OP Enhancement Pack to AVG letting them know that I built it and that there are no infections and that their software identified it as a false positive. I also sent them the Gamespy Arcade files as well.
Other than that, it found some tracking cookies that Ad-Aware 2008 did not fine and neither did spybot search and destroy.. so the heuristics in this version of AVG is much better than before.

Funny? If I use the AVG control panel to go to their website it just offers me the pay version as an option. If I go to the homepage though and navigate to the AVG free DL then it takes me to 8.0 for free.
AVG has never liked "homemade" installers or self extracting zips/rars. Not all of them false, but a lot of them do. Maybe you sending in yours will be of use to them. One can only hope. ;)

thanks for the heads up

i can not seem to find the free versions. Is it the trial version download or something else? If someone could provide a direct link, that would be even better.

I got it from Leptons post. Thanks.
I disabled the security tool bar and safe search add-ons for Firefox though. it was slowing me down too much.

I just usually keep updating mine.

I was useing avg myself before ,till i found out A Squared to be way better,in regards to what it can detect.
The free version comes with a background scanner, every few hours signature updates.
You can download a full version as a 15 day trial and then downgrade it.
I dont need spyware search and destroy anymore wit this!
