Title: Truespace 7.6 Free Modeling Tool
Post by: Cyberkada on July 24, 2008, 08:27:55 am
Caligari the company that makes the 3D app truespace is now offerring its latest version 7.6 free to the public. I've used this product back in the mid 90's and it is a decent 3D modleing tool. The interface was a bit quarky but the tool itself was good.

don't know if there is a .MOD exporter

No.

Here is the list of programs that can edit .MOD format:

M6's editor - Use openGL, can open/save .mod, import/export LWO, edit polygon/vertex, texture mapping.

CV - Use directx9, open/save .mod/.sod, can resize model, assign hardpoints.

Milkshape3D - Use openGL, unofficial plugins available.

3D studio Max 3,4,5 - official Taldren plugins support.

Great find for sure. even if truespace has no .mod expoter..

IMPORTING
• BVH animation and motion capture
• Improved X format
• Conitec 3D Game Studio Format
• DXF format (full layer support) compatibility
• 3D Formats: SCN, COB, SOB, WRL 1.0, GZ, WRZ, DXF, 3DS, ASC, PRJ, LWO, OBJ, LWB, IOB, GEO
• 2D formats: BMP, TGA, AVI, FLC, JPG, DIB, AI, PS, EPS, PNG, DDS

EXPORTING
• BVH animation and motion capture
• COLLADA
• Improved X format and DXF format (full layer support) compatibility
• 3D formats: SCN, COB, CAN, WRL 1.0 & 2.0, DXF, ASC, 3DS, X, iSpace format
• 2D formats: • BMP, TGA, AVI, JPG, TIFF, PNG, PSD

And they can be opened up with most 3d applications including the ones that can convert to .mod.

Again. great find, thanks for posting. this should be in the sticked thread on software.
