Described as a fully functional PC with inset Qwerty key arrangement, the keyboard has a 5in touch screen that displays a suite of bespoke media controls or a Windows desktop, according to a report by Stuff.
The keyboard is powered by Intel’s Atom processor and incorporates a selection of USB and video ports around the back. it has solid state storage and, of course, Wi-Fi connectivity.

Ports-a-plenty
The device also features an Ultra-Wideband Wireless HDMI port, which could, theoretically, be used for streaming films from the keyboard to your HD TV.
Still a lot of details missing as this is still at a prototype stage but interesting.

I really don't see this taking off. Small computers already exist -- there isn't any real compelling reason to put a computer inside a keyboard.

...on second thought (I was going to agree with JpoPunisher) a fully functional computer the size of a keyboard would clean up my desk quite a bit, a 27in LCD and a keyboard leaves alot of space for 'junk' not computer related. It's be HOT if it was wireless, I'd never have to leave my bed- c'ept for coffee.

It's be HOT if it was wireless,
WiFI and wireless HDMI plus powered by a battery.
Not everything needs a powerful computer, these units could be useful for a lot of those lesser jobs.

I just bought a dell. My thought when setting it up was:
"hey why not plug my mouse into the keyboard, then only have one cord from the keyboard to the pc?"
Seems like less spaghetti routing around behind the desk, considering that normally I use the keyboard *or* the mouse, not so much simultaneously.

You nincompooper, you could have a coffee bean tree on one side of your bed, and a grinder and maker on the other side!!!!

You do realize that Apple had that same idea in the late 80's?

EXACTLY ! The trick would be the interface to your TV (or monitor)- If your smart you build in multiple inputs and some video processing options like PIP and maybe strech/skew of each pane.

Ahh yes, a bedside espresso machine.
