Title: Model for the Penny Pincher - Tahnyn Cruiser
Post by: intermech on March 01, 2009, 03:39:16 pm
Since the topic of low-poly models has come up in a few threads lately, I thought I would post what might be my favorite work right now. It is only 192 polygons done in Milkshape. Each vertex was hand located and polies hand drawn, with the exception of the bridge deck on the front, no primitives were used. The texture was drawn in MSPaint XP and enhanced using Irfanview and Milkshape. The render you see is done in 3D Exploration and put together using MSWord 2000 and MS Paint XP. It is one of my favorites because I think that I squeezed just about every detail I could out of those <200 polygons. Whether you like this particular ship or not, I want to both encourage those who may be limited or want to challenge themselves to lower poly models and see just how far you can stretch your software.

Awesome!
I would(for me), loose those winglets on the aft section, and make them vertical (one on top and one ventral along the spine and belly) :)
