Hey guys,
Long time no see. Afraid I was getting a little antisocial, but I seem to be pulling out of it.
I've been developing a new technique for doing detail work and I'ts coming along nicely. I've been playing with Atolm's Peladine and his Pre-TOS klingons to iron out the idea.

I like the look of those models

Furyofaseraph,
I can't get enough non-Fed ships!
Is the first ship SFB Paravian [i forget the race name I mean] or a Romulan ship?
The only thing about the Klingon ship is the back end of the warp engines. I understand it's a WIP.
Nice joboverall!

The first (and third, its the same ship) is a Peladine Heavy Cruiser.
The klingon ship is actually very klingon, but perhaps not at this angle.
I have the TMP fleet here, still. What can I say. I'm lazy.
Actually, I cannot release the excelsiors at this time, as requested by LC Amaral.

Well, that's a shame. Yours was the one I found the most satisfying right after Adonis' (unfinished) efforts. I hope we'll see all the high-quality work released someday (Adonis' excelsior, CC22 (wherever he is)'s Miranda, Will's Enterprise... so many!)
I'm guessing the klink ship is from some work other than enteprise? It reminds me of the Ent Concept D5, but looks like it came out of some 1960-80s publications

Lookin damn good

Thanks man :-)

Are you cut and extrueding it or useing some app to make the details like zbrush ? Either way i like the results im just wondering if you use any apps/plugins that could me make panneling for high poly works?

To each his own!

Its complicated.
For areas that are completely flat, I create a pattern using splines that I then convert to Polies. I then use ConformWrap to project the verts onto the flat model. (conformwrap can be found on a site called HyperEnt)
For curved areas, I use splines that I extrude, make a copy of the original object, and then pro-boolean them together. Either ill just have it on Cookie Cutter mode, or Ill use intersection - which ever works. I'll delete what I dont need and then extrude.

I'll just put this here...

that first image looks like the 'preserve honour'. looks fantastic!
that second one looks like a puffin :P very unique!

I love the model work, but I really want to know more about that map you've got. I like how you've placed the various minor SFB races among the canon star/empire locations, but what era is this? Pre-UFP?

Nope, I broke down the UFP into its various members, thats all.

Most interesting.... Adds a lot of ideas for future races. There are a lot of races that should be contraversial, but the FRAX definitely dosen't belong on any political map!
-
My trek, my rules :-P.
Atolm's models of the Frax fleshed them out enough in my mind to be a real race, not some simulator creation - same with the Triaxians.
-
Sweet stuff, i like all the extra model work you put into my old crappy ones...Gives them real credibilty :)
a small question on your map: I noticed the Shelliak are way on the outskirts of the alpha quadrant...now if this was a TNG or close to and TNG map, wouldn't the sheliak have a clear path to the federation border (they did have a war if I am not mistaken)? But then again this could be a map from before TNG like TMP, in which the sheliak wouldn't really have met the Feds... But then again this could also be a Dominion war map, in which the cardassians expanded into sheliak territory, and with the help of the Dominion, annexed terriory of the Sheliak Corporate...
Eh, i'm overthinking this LOL, great work anyway on this!
-
Thanks Atolm,
Got any other works in the going? i loved your andromedan mesh. Got anymore Betalgeuesians cooking?
Yeah, the map is TMP. Its possible that the cardassians and sheliak had a war, and might have expanded all the way to federation territory by the late AMB era. I might move the Sheliak closer anyways.
In any case I lost the map in a format, so I have to do it over from scratch.

I got ideas in the pipe, but I need a texture/texturer for the andros.
catch up with me, if you can...if not its cool

FoaS, are you putting the FASA Chandley Class in your Federation line up?
While I'm writing about FASA Trek, are you going to have the Klingon D-10 or the Romulan Winged Defender to the adversary list?
Keep up the good work!
KF

The chandley is a possibility, I'm still not sure on it. Who has the best mesh of it? I'll download it and take a look at how it sizes up to the other models.
The Riskadh? Probably. I like that updated version that someone uploaded.
The Winged defender? Probably not. I'm not a fan of FASA designs, let alone their Romulan ones.

Used mostly Khalibans Connie parts and then designed the other areas to match.
