With Filefront failing, and my involvement in the community waning, I think it is a good time for me to officially inform you that I will not be supporting or supplying mods for SFC III indefinitely. I will not be re-uploading any of my mods which were solely posted on SFC III files or Armada II files. If you wish to retain my published models, they can be found at this link ( http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.com/developer/Interstellar_Machine;1737 ) up until March 30.
Advantages to my Models:
- I have always tried to gear mods to slower computers (I am running a 900 Mhz AMD Athalon from 2001 with 512 mb RAM).
All my mods are free and open for modification, and use in other mods. No permissions required, ever.
A few notes on my decision:
- I have a kid now, which apparently, it takes a while for kids to learn to mod. I am looking at 10 years optimistically before I can get her to develop any modding skills.
I am in the process of applying for licensing in my real profession and it is taking a lot of time, a lot!
I have been spending more time blogging ( http://interstellarmachine.xanga.com/ ), probably more than I should, but it is more geared to my interests.
Though Star Trek will always have a special place in my heart, its increasingly humanistic themes are in conflict with my world view. "No man can serve two masters." I am not abandoning it completely, but I am making other things a priority.
My decision has nothing to do whatsoever with any kind of anger toward the SFC or dynaverse communit, or any individual. I think of all of you almost as family and you will likely see plenty of my continued posts in the future.
My activity in the community has been increasingly stagnant and I do not like to commit to projects, or make promises I can't keep.
I have learned alot from you all. Thanks for being so accepting and teaching me so much! Feel free to contact me any time either by personal message on this board or via interstellarmachineATgmailDOTcom

I know how you feel...but as can be seen by myself, SFC stays with you even when you move on to something else, or RL takes hold of you. After almost 3 years, I came back to these boards and re-found my wonder and love of modeling...something about it just grabs you and won't let go. ;D I firmly believe we all need a break from our hobbies every now and then, otherwise it starts feeling like another job. Take your break, enjoy your blogging and your child, and more than likely when your ready we'll still be here in one form or another. ;)
