Title: Very cool "sketch-based 3D concept modeling"
Post by: Bonk on May 10, 2009, 10:33:57 am
Nice work. Canadian too. (Though with funding from Chrysler and related patents, I don't expect this one to go open source or to be in our price range for quite some time):

It certainly is cool, but I was always taught in art class not to use the multi-stroke sketching technique.  Kind of a dumb name.

okay refresh my memory, multi-stroke sketching?  Sounds like something that would get you thrown out of church.  (last art class in Jr.High 30+ years ago, we still chiseled our art then)

It's what they are doing in the video.  You draw multiple arcs back and forth to approximate the curve you intend, instead of merely drawing the curve you intend.

okay, figured that was what you meant, doing short strokes instead of long flowing strokes.  But wanted to make sure.
