Excellent Klingon ships!

Thanx, didn't think that so much people like this that much.
the second prototype even has a third nacelle on top as the TOS klingon engineers thought this will make the ships faster but this attempt failed and only these two prototype configurations existed and it was mothballed after the K'Tinga entered service.
the second prototype was in fact the same ship but the engineers had mounted the third nacelle on top of the hangar housing.
However later in the time as the Fed Excelsior entered service the Klingons wanted again some kind of fast cruiser and the old plans of the K'Tkara where taken out again but the design that entered service had changed radically.
i have done the textures and finished the model for the second configuration.

The top nacelle would make sense for the phaser firing arcs. The "chin" phasers fire to the rear centerline under the ship and the bottom mounted nacelle would interfere with those arcs.

The additional nacele under the sec hull donīt works, looks like an ugly kitbash, Iīm sorry... About the variation with an additional nacele on top, this one can works. Looks good the way it is. ;)

as i explained in the following post these prototypes have been failed attempts for this

I liked the version you started the thread with. Clean and unblotched.
Last version the weathering is a lot too much for my taste. Particularly the obvious repeat of the pattern on all three nacelles, which is very noticeable.
The most severe and common "weathering" in space would be uniform exposure to sun and radiation unfiltered by atmosphere.

this will be true to stations in orbit and not in motion through space and even a station has to life with micro asteroids and particle storms and a Klingon is made for battle so even their ships, your thinking about the weathering is somehow unrealistic for such a ship, in my thought's.
the weathering on the nacelles is the same as i use the same texture for all to having not that big files as i have noticed to having a faster and better PC than five jears ago is not making the games that better running with high poly models and higher resolution textures. :)

Did this beasty ever get released?

Sadly, this is one of many of Terradyhne's lost vessels of the Klingon Empire. I'd love to see these in the new texture set you are working on The Northern Star.
