Title: SFC 3 Instal problem on Vista.

My son managed to buy a copy of SFC 3 for £1 in Gamestation today.... however he has discovered a problem when installing it.

The game keeps insisting that he installs the old Direct X 8.5 when he already has Direct X 10 already on his computer.

Any one have a remedy to fix this problem??

Im assuming its a clean install?

has he installed the 534 build? im sure from 500 upward they fixed the vista issue, also

I've shown him the link and he's sorting it out now.

It would have been easier if he just run the game on one of the older machines that run Windows ME (Migraine Edition) which we normally run SFC 1 on.... but he insists on running it on his brand new ACER mini-tower.

He's already read the manual and commented on the lack of ships and wrong class designations being akin to Legacy.

Currently we run several hundred ship types in SFC 1 so he's going to find SFC 3 a bit sparse on ships to begin with.
