Title: SFC 3 Instal problem on Vista.

My son managed to buy an old copy of SFC 3 from Gamestation for just £1 today but has problems running the game. It keeps asking him to install Direct X 8.5 on his machine when it already has Direct X 10 installed as standard in Vista.

Is there anything to resolve this problem as at the moment he can't play SFC 3 on his machine.

He has to set game compatibility to XP SP2 / 3 and run game as administrator.. also he needs to patch the game to v534_b following the instructions posted in the SFC 3 forums.

I'll go and see what he's doing with it.

He learnt all his IT skills at school so doesn't actually no as much as he thinks he does.... I'll just wait until the cry of help comes.

That's waht fathers are for....  fixing bicycles, motorcycles and computers for off spring.

Now when I were a lad we had to build our own computers from bits and pieces we bought and found, etc.

Youngsters have it all too easy these days.
