Title: OT, there's an interesting development in Canadian politics with a Trek twist!

OK, the US had Ronald Regan, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura . . . to name a few, it's our turn up north now! there is a campaign to name William Shatner to the position of Governor General of Canadahttp://www.facebook.com/pages/Help-nominate-William-Shatner-for-Governor-General-of-Canada/102216946483989?v=wall (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Help-nominate-William-Shatner-for-Governor-General-of-Canada/102216946483989?v=wall)! It's a little frightening though, the GG has veto power over any proposed Federal legislation (almost never exercised)! Here's hoping that if the bid is successful, his evil alter-ego doesn't take over! Although I'm not sure he could possibly be any worse at making important decisions than our Prime Minister Stephen Harper (Captain Dunsell). :laugh:

It'll be interesting to see if it's Captain Kirk or Denny Crane that comes shining through should Shatner get that position.
