Title: Neil deGrasse Tyson, has comments about the USS Enterprise.

Mind you, he is the guy who destroyed the planet Pluto, but he did redeem himself some what.

Anyways, I thought some of you first rate model junkies might get as big a kick out of this as I did.

Man, IMHO, Neil himself is, as he puts it,  "astonishing, awesome, beautiful, seductive (yes, I said it)..."

Props to Mr. Jefferies. I'm hoping that 1701 won that starship smackdown at Comic-Con...

IMHO he states the very thing that many of us old dudes have stated for years.  Simple fact is that much of the work that we do has it roots in that first T.V.  model from TOS.

I know that from a film production stant point cinema has came a long way.  BUT considering the limited resources that were used back then IMHO they did a fantastic job!

Its just a damn shame that JJ couldn't trust to history and let her out on the big screen. That Grand old Lady would have kicked Nero's ass

JJ is a big starwars fan!! I dont think Tos or even trek in general other than pandering was a thought. JJ was hired by CBS to remake the theme or kill it off. 
 Neil deGrasse Tyson is just pandering to the public he is aware he has upset a large % of the trek public about pluto but.  :laugh:
