Hi, all:
It's time for another database clean on DOE, and as long as I have it down we may as well try to fix up the little mission quirks. I'll take the server down tongiht at 8PM EST. I will:
1) Clean the database (gets rid of all the leftover AI icons and improves server performance)
2) Replace Dave's AgentRecovery and CourierIntercept missions with newly compiled versions. (Hopefully will stop these missions being mandatory in allied space)
3) Replace Tracey's 6 patrol missions with newly compiled versions. (Puts the 3 back in the 3-on-3, and maybe gets rid of the AI double-shot bug)
The latter two points takes care of some things people have been calling for, but naturally this comes at a price. There will be a new download with these replacement missions and a new shiplist. The download should be small, and take 15 seconds or less on cable.
I should have the server ready to go back up by 8:30PM; but just to be safe we'll say 9:00PM EST for sure.

Anyway to increase PP payoff after a win?
Tracey has a good system to determine payout, but 180 PP to kill off all of the enemy (to include the courier) and not lose any ships seems a bit low (barely covers my repair/resupply costs).
Normally getting a promotion bonus means enough PP to upgrade to the next ship. But on DoE it means "cool, I can resupply for a while more!"

Any chance of cutting down on the 'Courier' mission? Lately, whenever I enter an enemy hex, it's the only mission available. Yesterday it was the only choice 8 times in 10 missions I flew in a single hex.

Well since you kept killing the messenger the message never got through and they kept trying. So, really, it's your own damn fault!

HB, I do not know you, but from the outside looking in, I wish to thank you for helping to keep the dream alive, and giving others a place to play and enjoy...

What about removing mandatory missions in allied space. I have been told that Feds get mandatory missions in Gorn space and visa versa. Apparently, this has caused some grief. Some anger. Some hatred. And yes, some offers of cold hard cash for your phone number.
Ooooo that reminds me, I need to call my travel agent. Always wanted to see Hawaii.
Don't answer your phone Herr Burt.
<snicker>
<AHEM!!> Silly cat. That was already mentioned in item 2.
As for messages on my phone: Hey, nothing could ever match the fright level I already get when I hear the tortured souls in the background every time you call me. Ooooooo..... spooky.

No worries. Now get in there and fight! We need more Feds.

Unfortunately, I may have HAD plenty of time, but it is almost over. I would hate to start a diehard player and then disappear...
