Title: Federation needs new Battleship
Post by: Torbal on May 18, 2003, 02:25:51 am: I play SFC3 alot online, iplay on TNZ and the Dominion wars and I noticed that the Federation Battleships are lacking in design and fire power and all that. I was hoping there is someone out there who can make a better Battleship for the Federation. Thanx.

The model was made up of parts from other Star Trek models and has a design concept similar to a Steamrunner, but cooler. Thing lis loaded with weapon systems. I would post a picture here of it, but I don't know how to post pictures on this message board.

Read through these forums, and note websites listed by the posters... many or most are accomplished modelers and such and promote downloading and sharing of their fine works. Its overwhelming to try to think of just one to look at- there's just so many!
Besides, although its fun to play with uber-ships, they tend to make dramatic advantages... I turned Atolm's Soulwolf into an uber-ship on my home conquest, and it was all but unstoppable... it and a couple of frigates could take out a starbase and all its escorts in 10 minutes... such 'ridiculous' firepower makes an unfair advantage in a more than one-player setting.... some persons would abuse that capacity. Not a lecture, just an suggestion.

Post by: Magnum357 on May 18, 2003, 02:54:34 pm: Ya, making powerful Battleships that nothing can stop them is no fun. For ships so big and powerful, they should have weakenesses like slow speeds, lack of manuevering or lack of power available.

It would be interesting to see people make balanced shiplist mods for SFC3 and see which ones are best.
