Very beautiful ships! But that space station is really cool! I'd love to see these modeled!
-
Would work well as a TMP design, as a fed tug or LTT.
-
According to the sie, the ship is actually classed as a light cruiser/scout and is the same size of the Connie (as evidenced by the scale drawing)
It is a pretty ship though!
-
Although I don't plan on making this ships, these pics have given me a few ideas for some ships I want to do.
Thanks very much!

That is a cool design. I really like the saucer design: looks very sleek in profile view.
-
I agree most heartily I'd like to see someone tackle this one and turn it into an SFC model it would make a great light cruiser model to replace the Akula design

Aah yes the Pyotr Velikiy (Peter the Great I think it means, he founded the Russian navy IIRC) another masterpiece from Masao. According to the article it was meant to be the ship they'd use if they screwed up with the Connie, the only disadvantage it had compared to the Connie was the older SSWRXIII reactor it used instead of the experimental SSWRXV reactor in the connie which was what they expected would screw up. The ship was later modified to not have the secondary hull at the rear once the proper connie reactor was fitted and it became the basis for the 'spare' cruisers like the Miranda, Nebula etc. Lord Schtupp: great to see ya man, thought we'd lost you, you still gonna release those TOS ships from ages ago? I'm still waiting patiently for an SFB connie. *waits patiently*
-
Very cool! Anyone making it?
-
Well I did think how I would go about constructing the primary hull, but I suspect that if I start yet another project now I would be a prime canidate for being lynched.
I did see another fellow at frostworks had a WIP going I believe...
Hey Vampire, message received lol
-
She looks good, I like the scalloped upper saucer myself.
-
Lord Schtupp:
Want Antares! Want updated Connie! Want!

On the actual topic of the thread: that is indeed a cool design. I love the SFM site. It's just so well-done and feels very real and "historical."

lol

i know i know....
-
Bump! I'd still very much like to see this ship and her varients built or converted over to .mod with the author's permission (I think they are 3ds).
-
You are already a prime candidate.....
-
*wakes up from meditative trance*
I don't think he can hear us Anduril
*goes back into meditative trance to wait patiently for the SFB connie*
-
I actually have all these pics filed away in a directory for future project.
Me and future projects go together nicely......
-
ya want this ship ???
-
Wow...i had long forgotten about this post! Good to see somebody taking on the challenge!

Terradyne, any progress, sir?

Just going to mention this (because noone else has).. NCC-1670 was the registry for the U.S.S. Defiant. I found this out when I tried releasing the TOS Defiant (based off the DS9 version) and people insisted on me including that registry).

Here's a shot of the one that I did with the Defiant registries..

It'd just kind of look weird to have two ships with the same registry number.. hence I'm mentioning it..
(ps: the rear end of this ship is textured, but I have an OpenGL issue with this video driver that sometimes fishbones white lines over things, which is what you're seeing on this cap..)

The ship and base defenetly look good. I'll be looking foreward to them. If it's one thing we don't have it's TOS era bases, other than K7 and said variants.

About the NCC number for the TOS Defiant; Of course, the TNG hull number (72k something or other, can't recall off-hand) would make no sense for TOS, but I'm curious where the idea for 1670 came from.
Oh, and bump for any info. Terradyne?
