Why, exactly, does this (and, IIRC, a couple other of your designs) have both the Vulcan-style warp "ring"  and the more standard nacelles?

The Ring is a Long-ranged Warp nacelle...the other two are standard short ranged...think of it as a Booster like on the space shuttle...or a third nacelle on a DN or BB

the ring design is cool but not for Romulans for me and please give it another name not the german for Stormbird
english: Stormbird = german: Sturmvogel
and the bird painting itself is cool but is a bit to bright red

but, um... what exactly is holding the warp drive unit in place?

I'm not seeing any pylons or struts... is it, like connected somewhere, or is this an 'Oops?'

my be romulans used different color schems for their experementel ships back in the day and this is what they used or they use a different one for each

there is a pylon on the bottom...or at least there should be...I mean I put one on

After long deliberation with a few mates of mine, I have decided to pop a few more hulls out...so look out for 3 new hulls
and something very special  ::)

Also the Era for these ships is Pre-TOS...I mean like Romulan empire year 1 kind of stuff...so only some of these hulls may have been in the Earth-Romulan war...I wanted to try a very new idea... that is a galaxy before the Federtation/Starfleet...so
the races involved would be Romulans, Vulcans, Klingons(?), Andorian(?), Gorn(?) and anyone else you guys can think of
 like the Promilleans(sp???)

Man, these are cool! Kinda like NX-era style meets anime! :D

Regarding the Ring + Nacelle combo: I used this on my TOS Rommies too, however the nacelles were the housing for the impulse engines, while the ring was the only warp generator. Having the impulse generators out on pylons like that makes the ship more maneuverable...

aye thats a good idea...On mine, the ships have "flaps" which are for impulse manuvers...the traditional warp nacelles are short range...while the annular Ring drive was used for Long range...ala the Vulcans :)

I have d/l all the models on this page but still have issues getting rthe ones on page 2..seems to be the same message that the fiole is not available.

The Panzer-Adler or  "Amoured Eagle" is a CV with 4 Geist or "Ghost" -class PF's
The Feuerhausieren or "Fire Hawk" is an NCA
and The Streikengeier or "Strike-Vulture" is a CVA...althought you could use it as a CV as she has 15 shuttle/fighter bays...lol

I have A Reman Schwarze-Maeher "Black Reaper" SCS for the Fleet aswell
and upcomming CLV for you mates(and a possible Reman Siegeships or suicide/ram ships PF's or FF's)...so keep a look out :)

That Geist PF looks veeeeeeeeery familiar, especially with the Vahklas warp bars...;) Nice use of the D'Tharex design, though I was hoping you were actually gonna make my ship. ;D

BTW, the Geist would look better if the bars were taller, they're kinda stubby and seemingly useless right now. This pic shows the Vahklas screencap, which i based the V2 off of anyway.

Loving dinosaurs, and loving Star Trek, this has got to be one of the best threads, and models lines, of all time! The green Gorn ships are my favorite of the Gorn series...
SO, Atolm, are these pre-TOS Gorn, as were the Romulan ships earlier in the thread?
The pirate ship looks like a galleon, like a classic pirate ship...

OK I just finished 9 more Ships for the Tellarites that should round them off nicely

I don't know If I will do any more Andorians...there design though cool...is very generic...so I don't know

Also I don't know about the Klingons...Now that I am Off of vacation I don't know If I will contue this as strongly as I did
when I was...

Some Earth ships(I am not to sure why I am doing Earthers as they would not be space worthy as of yet as it would be 1990's to early 2000's...maybe just to have some) will be on the way(If the time allows), as well as some PreTOS Bajorans/Cardassians
I personally don't know what other canon races to include...maybe the Promellians or that other race old race that was mentioned as well at the time of the Ep.

I am Always thankfull for any imput

Can I place these ships in unity please? are they converted for sfcIII? If not i'll be buisy converting and once converted I'll obviously place them in the dyna for all... If they are already even better....

If that is a Mod then no not yet...Right now my ships are for DD's mod and individual DL...once his Mod is complete then I'll see
If Unity is not a mod and a place to Upload the models, then no, I already have the ships uploaded at a spot... and most are converted to SFC3
I usually donot mind my stuff being uploaded and kitbashed or retextured as long as there is permission...but after this past year of finding my stuff
all over the net here and there with no credit or anything...It has forced me to limit my DL spots...So sorry...but I may change my mind at a later time
but for right now...it is no...sorry mate

Uh...

... nobody jump down my throat, please, but:

these so great, and so good that I think "pre"-TOS is misplaced.  They look "advanced" enough "First Season" skinny Kirk, really arched eyebrow Mr. Spock TOS.

In fact, I think they artistically look better than the older TOS equivalents that have been around the last couple of years.

Well, I see the boxier, older look rather than the more streamlined TOS look. That and the pre-TOS thing in his sig just make it natural to call it that.

I do like the idea of ships like that being around in TOS, though- and they do look better than the SFB Feds!

Dude, those imperials are neat.

I think the problem with Terran Imperials is taht there are so many styles out there...There are Mine, there are Azels, there are I, Mudd's, there are WZ's....too many...

not really...I wanted a large ship...but not be uber nuts with 4 nacelles or something...also the size is an illusion...if you dL the ship
you will notice that the ship only looks large(realy large) in some veiws...other veiws the ship looks "normal"...its a cool intimidation factor for the Klingons.
in my opinion she looks more like that Bertaa-class DN

Update:
2 new ships are done...both Romulan...the first is a Pretos concept of the infamous SFB
Condor/Preator I call the Blitz-Kondor( that can be seen in DD's Preator thread)
the other is a Klingon-Romulan hybrid known as Unehelichvogel or Bastard-bird
hopefully I'll have pics up soon of her :)

humble retexturing attempt in progress,using p81 nx01 textures and making my own as i go, these textures are generic so they fit all of his pre-tos feds :)

What hull type is the Pioneer?

I know that Pioneer was the name of one of the Confederate Navy's submarines, but it was scuttled to prevent capture off New Orleans.

Its a cruiser of some type...I didn't really fit her in anywhere specifically  ::)

I am trying to do Canon(TV) races in a PreTOS fashion...For alot of races like the Tellarites, you'll be able to play with alot of ships
and also helps future endeavors from myself (or anyone) with some ground work towards a design philosophy to follow (hope that
made some sense)
I still am finding it hard to design more Andorian ships...but I am sure I'll come up with something when I least expect it...lol
 Are there any other races that you would like to see done from ST: TV ???
or more of a particular race??? (I still make romulans...lol...there are like 22 ships...lol )

those Cardassians kick ass- its so neat to see TOS & pre-TOS versions of races that do not have TOS ships... thats so inventive and thoughtful of you!
Surely in the beginning, the Breen had only a few classes, as they were just starting out and such, maybe a little behind the major powers at the time....

Should it matter, I think the So'na ships were mighty cool.. maybe pre-TOS or TOS (then) Baku ships would be similar, but retroactively designed, but a little more... benign? Less severe? The So'na were pretty ticked off people, and it showed in their overall designs. Maybe the Baku were a little more peaceful, and the angry So'na took their designs and went all angry with it. Just a thought... thanks for the works!!!

As far as the whole Ba'ku Son'a thing, here is what i think.

Pre-TOS: Archeo-Ba'ku (on the rise after nearly destroying themselves, Neo-Ba'Ku leave for the Briar Patch)
TOS: Archeo-Ba'ku continue to recover
TMP: Son'a Leave and rejoin the Archeo-Ba'Ku (im going to refer to the combined two as the Son'a from now on)
TLE: Son'a on the recover
TNG: Son'a on the recover
VOY: Son'a attempting to retake the Ba'ku....perhaps later a movement to reintegrate the Neo-Ba'ku and the Son'a

So really, the Archeo-Ba'ku/Son'a are the major race im talking about, so really they're ships shouldnt change any more than any other race would.

yes and no about the tech....the sona tech could have ratified due to the inclusion of those other 2 races
but I can try to keep the "Traditional" Son'a in mind for aspects of there ship designs

Promellians...Viidians... those are exciting-sounding names too... maybe some thoughts on them too?

That reminds me... I saw this TOS episode where the away team met a downed ship from Andromeda, they had superior technology, and there was a guy and girl, in silver tights... I thought they said they were genetically superior, or something. She was, certainly.
Are THEY the same Andromedans with the circular UFO ships a lot of the guys model here?
