Neat. I'm going to switch wireless and network items to disabled cause I ain't got either. :)

This works for Windows 2000 as well.  Except I would recommend to just click: 

Start | Run

Then type Services.msc in the Dialog box and click Ok.



You can also find out what services you may wish to stop by going here:

http://www.pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/default.asp


Then view all results and you will find a list of programs that are running on your system.  It will even give you a color-coded list need and don't need as well as tips on how to remove the service.  Nice post though ToastyO, I figured everyone here already knew about this stuff.
