Title: Got a problem on a friend's computer
Post by: Capt_Bearslayer_XC on July 11, 2005, 04:38:42 pm
It seems that his virus scan, Norton, has declared each and every one of his EXE files in the windows folder a 'trojan horse' virus and has quarintined them...

Any idea how to fix that?

I tried to 'undo' the quarantine by selecting the EXE files in the norton program and restoring them, but it is a no go.

Found a Link (http://castlecops.com/downloads-cat-6.html) to some trojan cleaning tools.

Also this site's forums are very good for security tips/troubleshooting.

Good Luck!

Maybe boot from a floppy, CD, or Zip disk and uninstall or deactivate Norton AV, then manually recopy key files for the OS?
