and man are they heavy. the real 'heavy metal" will now step forward ;) these new elements are ones created in a lab and are usually only around for milliseconds before *poof* but two more now to remember in chemistry class! The interseting point is not that they are made, but that they break down and are only temporary. One thing a element should be is stable, they seem to have changed that definition, and these are not. Even copernicium which they break down to is only stable for a few minutes. It is interesting that they can create something heavy that breaks down to a little one, if they figure out the right combos they may infact eventually create gold or other elements the way the universe did.

You are aware that there are plenty of natural atoms that break down too?  He3 and Tritium just to name two.  The very reason larger atoms are not found in nature is because they break down so rapidly.  These ones breaking down does not have to do with being man made but by the very fact that they are too large to be stable regardless of origin.

Those elements have stable isotopes though.
