great news from nasa today, the juno satellite was launched and is headed towards jupiter. this satellite will provide some really interesting answers to the origin of jupiter and also study the effects of a "failed star" jupiter was just not large enough in mass to start the fusion process and now is a huge gas giant. i can't wait to find out what is going on there. unfortunately the trip will take 5 years! yes, 5 years, arrival date is in 2016.
