ModViewer HD (c) D4v1ks 2016
This solution allows you to:
-Set the resolution of ModViewer to the size you wish.
-Change its background color (blue tone).

You can use the SFC_Editor that comes in the ZIP file, or any other HexEditor, to change the 3 offsets referenced in the ModViewerOffsets.txt file.
Have fun! ;)

Thank you so very much ;D
-
That's awesome. Thanks!

I updated the ModViewer to allow the customization of the background color. 8)

It is easy Fallen:
1) Extract the ZIP
2) Execute the "ModViewerSettings.bat" file
3) In the SFC_Editor that opened you will see 3 tabs
4) CLick on the "Resolution" tab to set the width and height of the program, and in the "BackgroundColor" tab set the number there to 0 (black)
5) On the "Main" tab press the button "Save the changes in the *.exe"
6) Close everything

Wondering if its possible to add a set of view commands to rotate the ship to the Dorsal, Port, Starboard, Bow, Aft, Ventral Views as well as Isometric left and right side ;D
that would make the mode view outstanding.

My version of gmax is crapping out in windows 10. :(
-
I'm starting to dread the day when microsoft say" Windows 7 is no longer supported"
I'm buying the best machine that can run win 7 at that time. And it shall never touch the net. Just so I can still mod.
It feels like a short time ago we were saying the same thing about buying up XP boxes ;)
Bernard, the model viewing program SFC2EDv2 has settings for views like ventral, dorsal, P/S, etc.
--after a moment's thought and search, I wasn't sure where you'd find that if you don't have it, so I just uploaded a copy into the Dynavers Downloads Library. In Utilities, in Uploads.

Wow, didn't knew that one even existed.
It was made by Taldren too?

gmax doesn't make renders. I could take a screen shot of gmax itself then edit it. But I like a cleaner pictures in my selection screen. Plus I use Mod viewer to make my release pics with normally include orthos.
You could download the gMax Render kit. I don't use it but it's out there.
But I feel the pain, I use Win7 and XP on the same system. Win7 has my Paint Shop Pro and gMax. Windows XP has my 3ds Max. I have to use 3ds Max for hard pointing and everything else is Win7. It's a bitch, thank you Microsoft. >:(
What's your 3ds max version? I can get 3ds max 5.1 SP1 work in win7 64bit, if you need any help.

I have a couple. I think it's been quite a while, without looking them up I believe I have 3 and 5, just not sure of exact versions. I would love to get 5 working, but quite frankly I haven't even tried to install either of them yet.
If you have 5, we can start another thread for it. Let's keep this topic stick to Modviewer. ;)

the link times out.
I guess it does that since it's a link to ftp. As I said, it's in the Dynaverse Downloads, in Utilities, in Uploads

Honestly I have no idea or memory, it's one of the many tools I've found that used to be out there for SFC , on sites long gone. All this talk about 3ds max & gmax is fine, but you don't need much to just view models, and SFC2EDv2 wlll do soem kitbashing and texture mapping. There's another one just called "CV" that also does texture mapping and allows you to modify model HardPoints. I'll add that to the Downloads/Utilities/Uploads section

Probably it is better to someone delete this topic and create a new one topic about it.
Lost my interest in keeping it updated after started working in my "Model Browser" project.
