Um, so is she posing in remembrance of Majel Barrett?

With all the respect that heroes, that gave their lives for their countries deserve, and the great actors that died, don't you find a little creepy that the main page topic of Dynaverse for 2 years has been all about dead people?
Don't understand what Dynaverse is all about these last years. Nor why it is kept alive.

Now d4, if you had just left that last sentence out, your post might have been just a wry comment about the "dead people" thread. I'm sure there's a few people who think the main page could be improved in how it looks - I know I do.  Instead you had to go trolling.

Why is it kept alive? Because for years the Dynaverse has been the constant, the one site where we could all gather and collect and trade. It has been the bedrock of this community, to keep people together for a game series by a non-existent publisher, and all of the tweaks and improvements that have occured in the past 10+ years, yours included, began here. Sorry if that makes it seem "dated" in internet-years, but there's something to be said for continuity. Things could continue here, if a whole bunch of people hadn't defected a few months back, due to some over-reactions, in my opinion.

Also, in my opinion, you can't point to hotandspicy as being any sort of an asthetic improvement in design terms. I hate going there, mainly due to the aptly-named "shoutbox," permanently affixed to every thread I open, spouting strings of nonsensical opinions endlessly. I really don't care to read Player X's vitriol about a politician, or Player Y's diatribe on a TV series. Nice thing about Dynaverse - thread like that might be there, but I don't have to see them scrolling across the top.

Play nice. Be polite. Share. Basic concepts that get forgotten on the internet. If events evolve and "market forces" have an impact and players migrate, so be it, but the Dynaverse marketplace is still the only place to acquire these games we love so much. There's no reason there can't be more than one "SFC" site. I appreciate that you have continued double-posting your outstanding upgrades on both sites, as I know others do too. There's no reason to question anyone's existence though

Just because you don't like the points d4 has raised doesn't mean that they are not valid.  We have a couple of good coders who are willing to advance this game to heights we haven't seen in years.  What's being done to help them?  Yeah, the server is being upgraded and the lights are kept on and that's great.  But as you pointed out, those updates can be posted on other sites.  I asked this over a week ago at this site without an answer so I ask again, when is the DGA having an open meeting here to discuss issues and options regarding source code and offical patches?

And that shout box you complain about also helps the coders share ideas faster, so it does have its uses.  It's not that hard to ignore.  Complaining about it smacks of the same kind of trolling that you accuse d4 of doing.

You are right TAnimal.
Just because sometimes i don't understand its purpose, it doesn't mean it doesn't have any.
This is where i bought SFC, where i read very interesting topics, and where i got inspired to work on some improvements. Also, it is where i got access to other's people works.
But things are as they are.
Maybe i could have done something different. But i also am a bit explosive and i write things without ponder about it a lot. I'm sorry for that.
But people are very predictable.
This place will continue to be what it has been for years.
Even if someone tries to shake it a bit, like i tried to do, it will stay on its course.
And that is the way it is.

I'm sharing this a  little late, but better late than never!

I remember this guy more as the father in the Patty Duke show (reruns on meTV, etc., ya know), but he was in the Star Trek episode 'The Trouble With Tribbles' as well...

He was also in a DS9 episode.  His IMDB page has a LOT of roles listed - he kept himself busy as an actor apparently!

I hold nothing against him for JJ-Drek, that's a real tragedy at any age, but only 27...
