I just found out that Eddie Paskey (Lt Leslie in numerous TOS episodes) died on 17th August 2021 aged 87 years.
Paskey's character's name was given by William Shatner, when Bill pointed out that he couldn't just refer to a bridge officer as, "Hey You!!", naming the character after his daughter Leslie.
Paskey's character was given dialogue in several episodes, but he is mainly remembered for spectating events on the bridge from the engineering monitoring station.
Lt Leslie was the other red shirt wearing member of the TOS USS Enterprise crew that was always protected by plot armour.
