I was hoping to enter this in the modelling contest.  It looks as though I misremembered the deadline however, I though it was today not one minute after Wednesday.  Oh well, at least not I have plenty of time to fix the distortion problems on some of the textures.

When playing SFC2/OP I usually use frigates.  I love the little guys, but I did get tired of seeing the exact same model for every one.  Especially for the early police frigates that were forty years old even if you started in the 'early' game.

So I made this.  I guess you could call it the 'FF:POL-' because it suppose to be the original pre-TOS model of the 2227 police frigate.

It's mostly finished, I just have a couple of tweeks, the light maps and the .mod file to do.  The model has 733 polys and uses 24bit/512px textures. It took me about two weeks to do.  The mesh itself went very quickly, three or four hours.  The textures took the bulk of the time, though that was mostly learning how to do cool stuff in Photoshop.

Comment and constructive criticism welcome.
