I've been on the team since it was started and I've actually been crunching SETI WUs since May of 1999 but as of this past weekend, I'd decided to pretty much stop participating in the project.   In fact, they pretty much ceased about two weeks ago due to my wife always closing the SETI Driver program rather than just minimizing it when she was using the computer.  During that time, I got passed up by one or two guys on our team that I was outproducing.  Aside from a general boredom with the program itself, I've grown tired of fighting the Spousal Unit's general disregard for my wish to crunch SETI WUs as quickly as possible.

I'll likely just leave my meager total of completed WUs with the Taldren team but my slow and steady trickle of 10-15 WUs per day will cease.

It's been fun...heheh.

so anyone here know how to run SETI client on Linux ?

Think I got the client, but before I go nuts with it, I thought I would get some tips.

I need to find a way to get my numbers up!

So once again, the demands of life, employment and other things have sucked away most of my free time and I have been absent from the forum for a bit. I also went through a bit of an anti-social phase as I am wont to do from time to time.

Anyway, I decided to drop in and say hello as it has been far too long. Still pumping out WUs, though that is mostly on autopilot right now. I was quite surprised to see that I am creeping up to the 20,000 mark in the near future...

Good to see things are still cooking and good to see some familiar names.

Until next time...

Unfortunately I have found a program that having seti command client running affects it adversely.  Due to the necessity of this program on the 45 best machines my University has I will now have a much lower WU per day average.

Sigh...

Oh well it was a good run.

Why don't you go back to the screen saver on these machines?

From my experience even the screensaver interferes somewhat.
