Minimum numbers of Views needed to model a ship

What do you think is the min needed?. I know we would all like to have 5 views front, back, top, bottom and side. But not every one does that or if they do they do not match up, some times the three views dont match up. Yes im still working on my 1701 but I have been runing into One problem after another with it, so ive kinda slowed down on it.

But I still am wondering who many views you need to get a ship done with.

I'd agree with Azel...side and top at the bare minimum. That'll leave you with a lot of wiggle room as far as interpretation, so for accuracy I'd go with 3, side, top and bottom. Front and back views are nice, but you can get alot of that with the top and bottom views.

That's the nice thing about working with Azel...he'll draw up whatever view you need for one of his designs...I think he did a total of 4 drawings, then about five pics of a cardboard model when I did his Challenger.

Well I've managed it from a single reference pic, but that was an isometrically based 3d.
