Blender is supposed to be good for 3D stuff, but I couldn't get it to run after installing...and the help forum is impossible to register in.

Not so much of a design objects polygon by polygon program; its more of a here are some completed objects for free, see what you can do with it. When hooked it can become expensive to buy other objects although there are many freebies out there for the searching.

Plus much user input and forum help/chat.
