Anyone one using Firefox 3 Beta 2 yet?
« on: December 23, 2007, 09:23:56 am »
I have been using the portable apps version and it seems to work rather well. It hasn't crashed or caused errors of any kind and seems to be as fast or faster then Firefox 2. the only downside is that a lot of the add-ons, themes and extensions do not have a compatible version for 3 out yet.

I haven't tried it yet but I have read that it is lighter on memory usage.  Which will be good for my poor Linux machine with 512mb of RAM.  I'm looking forward to it.  During the next week I might give it a try, probably on the Windows machine just to be sure that having two versions installed doesn't mess up anything I care about.

That is why I used the portable apps version. I didn't want to take the risk of messing up Firefox 2 yet. When it is complete and the final release is out I'll switch over.

I have no idea when the final release will be.

Does IE load image heavy pages faster then FF2?

I'm using version 2.0.0.11 of firefox, not interested in IE.

and FF2 is doing good for me.
