Dynaverse Issues, help?
« on: January 19, 2009, 10:41:51 am »
Hi, I recently installed SFC3 again, just finished my new computer, after having it sit on my shelf for a little while because I couldn't get dynaverse to work. I'm trying again, but any kind of help would be awesome. Do I need to install a patch? Or something else?

Okay, I've installed the patches from the guide in this section, I've gotten farther than I ever have, but I still get hung up on the DirectPlay Test Host

Ah, thank you, no I haven't. The first time I tried to get dynaverse to work was probably a year or 2 ago, with my old computer (which is now dead, and I built a new one over Winter Break), I think that one was a 32 bit XP. Now, I'm runninng a Vistax64 Home Premium, for my OS, so far no luck with either, but I'm installing the patch now so that will probably help. I'll update this when it's done...and...where's the edit button?  :embarassed:

Edit: Found the Edit button :P

Edit: Well, I got farther, up to the direct play test host, that didn't work so it said it was trying an outside IP address, then it said 'You may have NAT (address translation) and have a different IP address to the outside world' :/ so...any ideas?

Are you behind a router?
The pen is truly mightier than the sword.  And considerably easier to write with.

You'll need to configure your router to allow SFC3 to connect to the access servers.

More knowledgeable people can help you with that.

Login to your router
Go to port forwarding
these are the ports
2302-2302 udp and tcp
2303-2303 udp and tcp
6073-6073 udp and tcp

If you're still having problems, maybe the following will help. I just updated it recently.
